What does he look like?英语 李俊兰一、 基本情况 学校:福源中学 授课人:李俊兰 学科:英语 时间:2017年4月27日二、 设计理念 1、 学生是学习活动的主体,教师是活动的组织者和引导者。在英语教学中,把英语课堂生活化,把一个个教学目标活动化,在活动中激发兴趣,掌握学习方法,积极营造以学生为主体,教师为主导的有效师生互动的高校课堂。2、 把语言应用的基本词汇和表达法转为具有实践意义的任务活动,在活动过程中,通过感知、体验、实践、参与等形式,完成任务目标,让学生感受成功。3、 让学生在自主学习、合作学习的过程中,实现对知识的融合,信息的交流,为学生搭建展示自我的平台。三、 教材解析1、 教学内容:主要学习如何描述人的外貌以及与此相关的形容词、名词以及短语和相关句型,并引出本单元的语法项目:系动词be和实义动词have/has的用法。2、 教材的地位和作用:以人的外貌特征为主线,以一种循序渐进的生活化的学习程序,引导学生学会用英语描述自己和他人的外表特征。本课是本单元的第一课时,英注重语言知识的呈现、操练、巩固,为以后知识的学习奠定良好的基础。四、 教学目标1. Knowledge objectives:(1) Key words:curly, straight, tall, short, thin, heavy, medium, height, of medium height, of medium build(2) Sentences: - What does he look like? - Hes really tall. - Hes of medium height. - What does she look like? -She has long straight hair.2. Ability objectives:(1) Develop students ability of listening and speaking.(2) Learn to describe peoples looks.3. Moral objectives:Help students develop a right value that a kind heart is much more important than a good looking.五、 教学策略及方法1. Teaching method:I will use task-based teaching method, situational teaching method, listening, speaking,pair work, group work in my class.2. Lead in and warm up1. A guessing game: who is he?T: Here are some clues. He is your math teacher. He is not very cool. He is very friendly and smart.He likes telling jokes(笑话) in class.Who is he?Ss: math teacher, Mr Zheng.T: Yes, you are right. Here is a video about your math teacher. Listen carefully and find what his question is. 2. Watch a video T: what is his question?Ss: in your eyes, what do I look like? T: Yes, in your eyes, what does he look like?(I write the sentence on blackboard.)热身活动与导入,旨在给学生营造一个轻松愉快的学习英语的氛围,同时也为下一步导入新知做好铺垫。学生喜欢玩游戏,而且具有亲师性,通过猜一猜是哪位老师,再在观看视频中找到老师提出的问题。这一问题正是本单元的话题,进而自然过渡到本节课的内容。能够很好地激发学生的兴趣,调动积极性,活跃课堂气氛,为接下来的活动做好铺垫。Step2 presentation and practice1. Show two pictures of Yao Ming and Pan Changjiang.T: who are they?Ss: Yao Ming and Pan Changjiang.T: what does he look like? ( pointing to Yao Ming)Ss: Yao Ming is tall. T: What about Pan Changjiang ?Ss: Pan Changjiang is short.T: What about this one? Who is he?( show another picture)Ss: Lu Han.T: what does he look like? Is he short like Pan?Ss: no.T: Is he tall like Yao?Ss: no.T: he is not too tall. He is not too short. So he is of medium height. (with gestures)Students read the words tall/ short/ of medium height after me. Then Ss read together.( T write these three words on Bb)T: what does he look like? (guide students to answer) Ss: he is tall/ short/ of medium height.Ask students to describe their classmates about their height and build.2. The words about peoples build (thin, heavy, of medium build) are presented as the above-mentioned way. 3. The words about hair are presented by comparing two pictures. Then list the sentences : She has short hair. She has long hair.She has straight hair. She has curly hair.She has black hair. She has brown hair.she has short straight black hair.she has long curly brown hair.Guide students to find the rules how to describe ones hair: adj.(short/ long +straight/curly +black/brown) + hairTake some students as examples to describe their hair.4. A game: Lucky number Practice the sentences and words by doing games.Game rules:Students work in groups of six. The team leader numbers students from one to six. When teacher says a number, the students in the number should stand up. The first one to stand up can have a chance to choose a number. Under the number is a picture of a person. Then make a conversation with her/ his partner. The conversation is like this:Eg. -What does he look like?-He is He isHe has_ _ _hair.5. Activity 1aLet students finish 1a. Then check the answers.展示新知与练习,通过学生感兴趣的明星图片展示本课重点词汇与句型。如姚明、鹿晗、baby等明星,学生尤为喜爱,能够很好的激发学生学习兴趣。然后要求同学们描述自己跟同学。接着小组练习,通过玩幸运数字游戏,通过抢答获得机会回答问题,再进行pairwork对话描述明星的长相。此活动加强学习的趣味性,加强学生间的交流与合作,而且反复的练习,能够强化所学内容,加深学生们的记忆。Step3listening1. Activity 1bT: look at the picture in 1a. Letter a is Amy. She is talking about her friend with a girl. Now listen to 1b to fill in the blanks and find who her friend is.Then check the answer.2. Activity 2aShow a picture where we just see a head of a man. Let Ss guess: Is he tall or short? Is he heavy or thin? Then give another picture to show the truth.T: now lets listen to 2a to answer the 3 Qs. 1. Is David tall or short? _ 2. Does Sally have long or short hair? _ 3. Is Peter short or tall?_Then check the answer.Finally, guide students to pay attention to the three questions. T: Can we answer the questions with yes or no?Ss: No.T: Yes, we must choose one to answer these questions.3. Activity 2bListen again to find what Peter looks like, what Sally looks like, what David looks like.DavidSallyPeterisheavyhasChoose some students to answer the chart.在学生掌握好前面的知识的基础上再做处理课本上的知识,就化难为简,学生才能得心应手,同时让学生整体回顾本课重点内容。该部分的训练旨在提高学生的听力能力。Step4ShowtimeInterview and reportMy friends favorite star1. Group rulesGroup in six. One is to ask questions about what their favorite star looks like. One is to give the report. The other four are friends.2. The interview and report are as the following.A: Whos your favorite star?B: My favorite star is A: What does he/she look like?B: He/She is A: Does he/she have hair?B: He/She has A: Is he/sheB: He/she is Report:My friend As favorite star is . He/She is . . He/She has . My friend Bs favorite star is . He/She is . . He/She has .3. Give students ten minutes to prepare. When students prepare for it, teacher moves around the classroom to give help if necessary.4. Time to showChoose two pairs to have a show in the front of the classroom.In the end, teacher makes the comments and compliments.小组活动对话展示,通过有趣的活动激发学生的学习热情,让学生在真实的情景中练习本课句型,旨在培养学生的英语口语能力,并开发学生的创新思维。Step5 summary 1. Guide Ss to summarize what they have learnt.Key words :curly, straight, tall, short, thin, heavy, medium, height, of medium height, of medium buildSentences: - What does he look like? - Hes really tall. - Hes of medium height. - What does she look like? -She has long straight hair.2. Answer the question what does Mr. Zheng look like?由学生总结本课所学知识,充分发挥其主动性,使学生养成善于思考,善于总结的好习惯。回答在warm up中提出的问题,达到学以致用。Step6Warm tipsShow a picture of classmates to tell them:Heavy or thin, Tall or short, Were all the same. Were all beautiful.Everyone is special!Everyone is important!A kind heart is much more important than a good looking!教师寄语,是本课所学知识点的一个情感延伸,目的是让学生在学习了如何描述人之后能以正确的态度看人,不要以貌取人。借此契机对学生进行情感教育,使之真正渗透到英语课堂。Step7Exercise1.
