What does he look like ?张洁 section A 1A-1C The design of this teaching period can be divided into eight parts. They are analysis of the teaching material, analysis of the students, teaching objectives, teaching key and difficult points, teaching approaches, teaching methods, teaching aids and teaching procedures.Analysis of the teaching material:1、教学内容:本课为Unit 9的第一课,本单元主要学习如何描述人的外表以及与此相关的形容词,短语和相关句型并引出本单元的语法项目助动词do/does的用法 系动词be/have的用法2、教材地位和作用:以人的外貌特征为主线,兼顾交际功能的学习,以一种循序渐进的生活化的学习程序,引导学生学会用英语介绍自己或他人的外表特征,本课是本单元的第一课时,注重语言知识的呈现,为以后作可持续交际奠定基础。同时也是中考的单项选择、完形填空和写作三个题型的热点话题。 新教材重视以人为本,学生的发展是英语课程的出发点和归宿。Analysis of the students:1、知识基础:缺少丰富的语言基础,对某些任务的完成有一定的难度;2、思维能力:有较强的记忆力和模仿能力, 有待培养知识的扩展运用能力。3、认知心理:有较强的求知欲和表现欲,但部分学生存在不自信,羞于表现等思想顾虑。 根据学生的实际情况,对知识的增、减、删做细心研究,尊重学生现有的知识水平和认识差异,着眼学生的个性发展,把握整体目标走向,因此,本课中我挑选了section A:1a,1b,1cTeaching Objectives:a. Knowledge aims:1. Students can learn some words about peoples appearances such as height, hair, curly, straight, heavy, medium.2. Students can use is and has to describe peoples appearances and master some sentence patterns to ask and answer such as What does he look like ?/ What does she look like?,He/She is/has .b. Ability aim:Students will be able to describe what people look like after this lesson.c. Emotional aim:Students will be able to describe peoples looks in a more polite way and not to judge a person only by his appearance.Teaching Key and Difficult points :a. Memorize the words of looks and help the students learn and master how to describe peoples looks with the new words and sentence patterns correctly and freely.b. Improve the students ability speaking and listening.Teaching Approaches:a. Communicative approachb. Situational communicative teaching approachc. The task-based language teaching approachTeaching Methods:a. Careful listening to get the information they need .B. Individual, pair or group work to make every student work in class.Teaching Aids:some pictures, paper,multimedia room, the blackboard.Teaching Procedures:Step1 Warming up and lead ina. Greet, and introduce some new friends called Tall, Medium, Short, Heavy, and short to the students, and learn this new class together.b. Explain the topic and what we are going to do during the lesson.Step2 Presentation a. Share some pictures with the students with these new words about height, figures and hair, they have to open their mouth and speak these news word and sentences following the teacher.b. Some students must stand up to read out with correct pronunciation by looking at different pictures.Step3 Practicea. Students will complete exercise 1a by themselves in one minute.b. The teacher will find one student to show his or her answers.c. The whole class check the answer.Step4 Careful listeninga. The first time students need to listen the tape carefully.b. The second time they write their answers in the blanks.c. One person write its answers on the blackboard.Step5 Pair worka. The teacher will help the students complete exercise1b, choose some new friends in 1a, and make a conversation with their desk mates.b. Have a showc.The whole class find the right person.Step6 ConsolidationThe whole class repeat these difficult words, and sentences.Step7 Competitiona.
