Language goals: Enable Ss to talk about some phrases of everyday activities.Enable Ss to write some target language: What are you / they doing? Im / Were / They are Whats he / she doing? He /She is2. Ability goalsTalk about what people are doing with everyday activities. Train the students communicative competence.3. Moral goals Learn to cherish time and enjoy the time with families and friends.三 The important and difficult points:1. Enable the students to learn : how to add -ing2. Help the students to use Present progressive tense to describe what people are doing.3. Write a short passage using Present progressive tense四 Teaching methods:Student-center learning、learn by doing、 Task-based teaching method5、 Teaching Procedures Step 1. Lead in Show a saying: to him that does everything in its proper time,one day is worth three. (设计意图:由一句名言告诉他们要珍惜现在,从而导入现在进行时。)Step2 Challenge 1 TalkingAt first , I will show a picture of mine and guide the Ss to ask me: What are you doing? T: - Im / were climbing the mountain.Then show some pictures of other teachers and Ss , guide them to talk more : Whats he / she doing? - He /She is What are they doing? -They are playing basketball.(设计意图:用我的照片以及他们所熟悉的人物的照片进行句型操练,调动他们的学习兴趣,从而巩固旧知。)Step 3 Challenge 2 TranslatingThe teacher shows some phrases .Turn around the turntable, Ss translate the phrases to practice them.Step 4 Challenge 3 Guessing game 1. Show several covered pictures and try to guess what the people doing. The Ss are given three chances for each picture.2. Acting The teacher show a picture and ask two students to stand in front of the class. One is to act, the whole class ask : Whats he / she doing? Then the other guess: Is she/ he ? Get several students to act like this.(设计意图:用三种不同的活动形式进行教学活动,调动他们的学习兴趣,从而巩固短语与句型。) Step 5 Challenge 4 Summarizing Task 1 Ss add “-ing” to these words on the paper by themselves.1. go_ 2.do_ 3.eat_ 4.talk_ 5.drink_6.Write_ 7.take_ 8.have_ 9.make_10.sit_ 11. run_ 12.shop_ 13. swim_ After checking the answers ,get the Ss to find out the rules of adding “-ing”.Task 2 Singing Get the Ss to learn to sing the song Firstly, read the sentences together, then learn to sing after the music.After that , divide the whole class into two parts to sing and compare which group is better.(设计意图:通过具体的词汇和歌曲让学生观察,归纳现在分词及现在进行时态的构成,解决掉在使用现在进行时的核心障碍问题,做好知识储备,积累语言素材。)Step 6 PracticingShow a picture of a happy family, Jims family. Ask some questions: What are they doing?1. Write down their answers to complete Jims letter in 3a and check together. 2. Please read the completed passage, and talk about how to write an article like this.Firstly, pay attention to the form of a letter.Secondly, how to arrange the sentences in order.Thirdly, pay attention to the forms of verbs.(设计意图:通过对3a课文的阅读,分析及归纳,使学生思考并完成本课的写作要点,引导学生确立语篇观念,为下一步的写作做好铺垫。)Step 7 Challenge 5 Group work Doing a reportShow a chart and work in groups. Then each group show their report in class, each student say a sentence.Step 7 Writing Before writingT: Now if you are me, please help me write a passage according to a photo of my family. Tell me what people in the pictures are doing.Make sure the composition must include the following things:*Topic sentence: Here is a picture of my family.*People: I, my sisters, my brothersHis/her*Activities: enjoying flowers / having a birthday party*Tense: Present Progressive TenseThere will be eight minutes for you to write .(设计意图:写之前,对学生进行写作指导,提示可能使用的句型)The teacher walks around and gives help to the Ss , find out better passages to show in the whole class.
