Knowledge aims:Key words and phrases: sitcom、 news、soap opera、 plan to、stand 、mindKey sentences:(1)What do you plan to watch? (2)What do you think of .? (3)I cant stand them. (4)I dont mind them. (5) I like/love them. / I dont like them. 2. Ability aims: (1)Students learn to talk about their preferences and make plans about TV shows. (2)Students improve their listening and speaking skills.3. Emotional aims: Students are able to talk about popular cultures and learn about various TV programs as well as their preferences. In the meantime, the teacher is supposed to guide the students to form correct cultural awareness and help the students to establish their independent characters.II. Teaching important and difficult points(1)Students master key words and sentences, then use them correctly.(2)Students learn to talk about their preferences and make plans about TV shows.(3)Students improve their listening and speaking skills. Teaching Methods:(1) Warming up to rise the studentsinterest in talking about TV shows.(2) Listening and answering activity to check the studentsunderstanding of the key structures.(3) Oral practice to train the studentsspeaking ability.(4) Individual、pair or group work to make every student take an active part in the class.Teaching Aids: multi-media;some pictures;report paper. Teaching ProceduresStep 1 Lead-in By asking the students the following questions: (1)Do you like watching TV ? (2)Whats your favorite program? Step 2 Guessing game Play three pieces of music about three different kinds of TV shows,and then ask the students to guess what the music is about.Step 3 Presentation1. Show some pictures of TV shows on the big screen. Students read and master the names of the TV shows. 2. Match the TV shows with the pictures.Step 4 Role-play 1. Let the students work in pairs to make a dialogue by using the following expressions:A: What do you plan to watch tonight? B: I plan to watch a talk show.(The students can use the information that is true for them.) 2. Ask some pairs to act out their conversations. Step 5 Listening 1. Tell students to read the TV shows in the box. Make sure they know the meanings of the shows. 2. Play the recording for the students to listen and number the shows 14. 3. Play the recording again. Check the answers with the whole class. Step 6 Pair work 1. Let students look at the pictures on the big screen. Then explain the meaning of each expression to the students. 2. Let students read the conversation after the teacher. Then let students make their own conversation using the shows and expressions on the big screen. 3. Ask some pairs to act out their conversations. 4. Explain some main points for the students.Step 7 Group survey1. I like/love them. / I dont like them.Blackboard DesignTeaching reflections本课的初步构思:采用学生较为熟悉的三段电视节目的背景音乐作为热身,激发了学生们的学习兴趣,快乐进入主题。然后通过图片介绍电视节目的名称,在此基础上完成1a.对于1c的对话,我分成两步进行:一是重点突破What do you think of ?及其回答;二是在课文对话的基础上进行了拓展,形成了较为完整的对话。本堂课做得较好的地方有:1、采用简短电视节目的背景音乐进行热身,再通过图片整体感知本节课要涉及到的电视节目名称,初步从图片上了解各种节目是干什么的。从学生的反应来看,积极性还是挺高的,能够很快积极地进入到英语学习的情境中。2、适时运用多媒体教学,直观形象。3、能根据实际情况对教材进行整合,使教学内容更充实。如,充实了1c的对话内容,还对对话活动进行了拓展延伸。并适时紧扣本课话题对学生进行了德育教育。4、对待学生的错误,能够耐心地引导使学生理解自己的错误所在并进行改正。5、学以致用,在本堂课的最后环节为学生创设了一个真实的情境采访调查,并要求学生据此做出简短的汇报,再次为学生提供了一个
