Knowledge goals: 1) Get to know the culture about April Fools Day 2) Get to know about 4 famous tricks 3. Ability goals:1) Get to know how to talk about events with past perfect tense 2) Get to use reading skills (predicting ,skimming ,scannig )to improve the Students reading ability.4. Emotion goals: 1) Get the sense of distinguishing the information what is true or false in the daily life.II. Teaching analysis of the studentsStudents in my class is quite good at English. They are active. Once they know how to express ,they like to show up.But They have difficulties in understangding the whole passage. They need leading .This topic is close to students daily life. And they will be interested in learning the passage.III. Analysis of the teaching materials The passage is selected from Go for it Grade Nine Unit 12SB reading . It is a reading class. Through the teaching of reading skills , let students finish a series of tasks to understand the passage and learn the reading skills.IV Teaching proceduresStep 1 Warming-up and lead in 1) watch a vedio and lead in April Fools DayStep 2 before reading 1) introuduce the background of April Fools Day 2) learn some new words in the passage Step 3 while reading 1) the intruduction of reading skills 以阅读策略为主线来设计形式多样阅读 任务(如配对,填空,选择,T OR F等)2)通过预测来完成task 1task1 Can you get the main idea of the passage from the matching excercise?3)通过skimming来完成task2和task 3 Task2 Read the passage quickly and answer the question. Task 3 Read the passage quickly. Then match each paragraph with the main idea.4) 通过Scanning来完成task 4,task 5,task 6,task 7,task 8 Task 4 Read paragraph 1 carefully and answer these questions. Task 5 Read paragraph 2 carefully and fill the blanks. Task 6 Read paragraph3 carefully and write T for true and F for false. Task 7 Read paragraph 4 carefully and fill the chart.
