面试网申心得范文 最近很多人问我关于面试的问题，我简单讲讲我的心得吧。 我面过PWM、IBD和S&T，也认识很多interviewer。 希望这些多少对现在正在准备面试的同学们有点帮助。 大体上有那么几点1）要有自信，不要慌。 banker都是很有个性的人，你一定要有气场，在气势上镇住，但是也要对interviewer有足够的尊重和礼貌。 讲话一定要气势。 问到不懂的问题没关系，要显得沉着冷静，很多时候interviewer就是要看how youapproach aquestion youdont know。 他们value yourapproach morethan youranswer.然后不知道的technical问题都跟一句but Ipick upthings veryfast andI have a strongwillingness tolearn.要有一个positive attitude.2）宁愿讲得简单点清楚点也不要把东西讲得很复杂很乱。 clear andconcise是最重要的。 人紧张的时候很容易把一样的东西用不同的话讲很多遍，作为interviewer已经面了很多人无聊到死的时候，你还这样肯定要挂。 我喜欢把所有东西都成三个point，这样就显得思路很清楚。 很多时候是不是看how muchyou know，而是看how youdeliver anidea，这才是更重要的。 3）目标是两点fit in&stand out.Fit in是要证明你的skill set和personality可以适合这家公司和这个division。 Stand out就是要从peer中脱颖而出，要靠你的卖点和别人不同的地方。 第一个比较容易，但其实一般有面试的人都能fit in。 第二个比较难，你需要考虑一下，每个人的方法也都不同。 我当时是说I ama well-rounded personwith diversified background becauseI haveworked atvarious locationssuch asChina,Hong Kongand theU.S.and fordifferent typesof insitutionsincluding investmentbank,corporate andgovernment.面试的具体问题主要分为两类，behavioral和technical。 我分别谈一下。 Behavioral Questions:Behaviral questions每个division都问得差不多。 一般最常见的有这么一些Why GoldmanSachs/Moragn Stanley.?给个example吧。 我当时面Goldman PWM我说了三点原因1）Brand name:Goldman isthe bestof thebest.And as a starter,brand nameis important.2)People:I cannotfind toomuch differenceon theway ofoperations amongdifferent bankson thestreet.And I believe thatwhat reallymakes adifference isthe people.Goldman peopleare nice,helpful andsincere.I havemet.3)Strategy:a)suessful localizationin Chinaand goodplatform高盛高华2)hiring lesspeople butgive eachperson moreresponsibility.Why PWM/IBD/S&T?也给个exmaple。 我面PWM时说的1）Combine therole ofrelationship managerand investmentrepresentative-client exposureand productexposure,soft skilland technical skill trainingat the same time2）Emphasis onlong-term andpersonal relationship-I findthose relationshipsto bemore secure,reliable andfortable.3）Ibelievethat thebest jobis ajob thatis different every day.-PWM isone ofthem fortwo reasons:a)we areon themarket sideand themarket ischanging everyday soit isdifferenteveryday;b)our clientse fromdiversifiedbackgroundand theycould befirst-generation entrepreneurs,previous bankersand etc.so everyday isa newday.What isyour strengthand weakness?Tell mean examplehow youwork in a team.What isyour biggestfailure?What haveyou learnedfrom thiswork/leadership experience?Why areyou interestedin XXXon yourresume?答这类问题关键在于千万不要给每个人都会给的answer，要有创意，要persuasive，不要照本宣科，要用心说话。 Technical Questions:PWM/S&T MacroQuestions:What isyour viewon U.S./European/Asian economy?这类问题要答出两点第一是what itis，第二是what isyour view。 其中涉及很多小问题，比如:Greek debtcrisis,U.S.debt ceiling,Chinese inflation,China economyhard landingv.s.soft landing。 这些都可是在Wall StreetJournal,Financial Times和其他一些报纸杂志上找到。 但还是三点论比较清楚，千万不要讲乱。 Investment Questions:Where didS&P/Dow Jones/Nasdaq/Hang Sengclose yesterday?What isUSD/EUR now?What hasthe goldprice beenthis month?这些key asset class都要有个基本的sense。 主要是四块equity,fixed ine,modity和currency。 建议follow market一段时间就会有感觉。 Give mean investmentidea.这个一定要准备。 然后要有理由，建议也是准备三个，因为你的client可能只有五分钟给你，你没有时间说一大堆。 这个我比较建议做equity，那你挑一个比较熟悉的公司，可以多扯扯，而且interviewer如果往细里问你也说得出。 Do youhaveaportfolio andwhat isyour investment strategy?这个没有的话建议开个模拟账户，可以实战操练一下。 investmentstrategy主要是两块,top-down approach和bottom-up approach。 所谓top-down approach就是看宏观经济来决定overweight geographiclocation和sector，而所谓bottom-up approach就是看公司或大宗商品的fundamentals.IBD IBD主要就是看Vault Guide，基本问不出那个范围。 Aounting问题三个statement的relationship。 Finance问题WACC怎么算。 Valutation问题有哪些valutation methodWalk throughDCF。 M&A问题为什么要M&A有什么方法。 Deal问题准备一个recent dealOther Questions:What isthe currentprice/market capof GoldmanSachs/Mortan Stanley.?（看你是不是了解该银行）What do you likethe mostand theleast aboutU.S.and Chineseculture?What doyou wantme to ask you?What questionsdoyouhave forme?最后，我觉得最重要的整体impression，而不是个别问题的答案。 Make yourinterviewer likeyou最重要，要靠impress theright peopleat theright timeand place。 这是我的经验。 希望能够帮助到大家。 祝你们好运，加油！其他网申心得blog.renren./blog/249640951/785495578网申心得xx-12-0113:23|(分类:默认分类)这些投资银行的网申多而复杂，新手上路很容易不知所措甚至走很多弯路。 我记录一下的经验，以方便要申请的同学们做些参考。 网申时间所有投资银行的网申时间可以在他们相应的网站上找到。 总体而言，香港office的网申一般是在11月截至，12月电面，1月终面；北美office的网申一般在1月截至，同时也要在学校的career center申请，1月下旬2月上旬on-campus interview，之后马上final round。 网申细节1）每个银行有不同的policy，一般最typical的是允许申请up to2locations和up to2divisions。 也有不是这样的，有些只能申请1location和1division，比如说Deutsche Bank，也有些可以申请任意数量的location和division，比如说Morgan Stanley。 另外要注意的是，有些虽然可以申请2个location，但是所有的application必须submit allat once，那就意味着你11月申香港的话同时也要把美国的交了，千万不要想申美国的但是没交。 这个建议同学们大家发动集体的力量几个人做个spreadsheet把所有的公司的deadline、policy和application link都找出来，就不会弄错。 2）网申主要分为四部分a）resume这是筛选电面的主要依据；b）cover letter求职信，给recruiter看的，但其实不是特别重要，很多人甚至说根本没人看，但也不能写太烂；c）behavioral questions网上直接答的一些问题类似于Why GoldmanSachs/Morgan Stanley?Why IBD/S&T/PWM?这个主要是给HR看的，用处不是非常大，但是也千万不要screw up；d）online assessments这个欧洲的银行会有，就是你在递交网申之后，会收到一个e-mail link去做assessment，主要分成verbal和numerical，UBS还有logical。 准备的方法很简单，去一个叫应届生的网站，里面有题库，有的时候题目甚至是一模一样的。 这个也是过了就可以了。 如何选择Division主要就是三类a)investment banking；b）sales&trading；c）wealth management。 关键是要选择你适合和你喜欢的工作。 简单讲一讲每个的不同。 a）Investment banking简单来说就是help corporations and governmentsraising capital，主要途径是IPO和M&A。 工作性质像是一个aount和consultant的结合。 你会get exposedto manyindustries，有机会和这些corporationsandgovernments的CFO、CEO和mangaement team有近距离接触。 在analyst&associate program之后，你就要选一个你interested的industry或geographic region，然后settle下来。 想要做IBD的人必须要有very strongaounting and analytical skill，因为很多工作是valuation和modeling，虽然其实基本也就是run spreadsheet和make powerpoint。 我觉得junior level的IBD人关键是要有strong executionskill。 IBD最吸引人的地方是因为it givesvery goodtraining andexposure,teaches how to workin ateam andhowtobring somethingfrom anidea toa result.b）Institutional securities，also knownsales&trading，主要分为三部分sales、trading&research。 sales的话是和client的打交道，这些client大多数都是很多公司的CFO这样的。 Since they are paidto takeyour call,theyarevery goodat takingthese calls。 他们对于市场和金融非常了解，所以他们会问你很多，这个时候你必须回答自如。 但是由于client就这个几个，你不用做cold call。 但是所有的银行都会pitch，所以如何stand out就看你的本事。 skill比较重要的就是interpersonal,munication andtechnical skills.trading的话，你必须非常smart，because youhave tosee somethingbefore everyoneelse see。 An investmentbank cannottrain youto bea goodtrader，instead,their jobis tofind whoare goodtraders.就是说天才trader都是天生的，他们对于市场的敏锐性不是后天可以赶上的。 这样的话，trader的skill大多都是天生的。 Research的话是总结市场的，做research的话get alot ofmedia exposure.A suessfulinvestment bankercould beunknown，but everysuessulful researcherhas to be well-known.你可以经常在电视节目、杂志上出现，很风光。 但是正是因为这样，也非常transparent，your suessand failure都会暴露在阳光之下。 skill是两方面，一方面是technical andanalytical skill去做研究，另一方面是ablity todeliver anidea-munication,writing,summary andpresentation skills.c）Wealth Management主要分为两类:asset management来服务机构性客户和private wealthmanagement/private banking来服务个人性客户。 Asset management传统上的就是一个pany有个portfolio，然后帮他们管理，现在还有非传统的，就是PE阿什么的。 Private wealthmanagement/private banking在亚洲刚刚开始，而且市场前景空前，尤其是中国的客户。 PWM是帮助超高净值客户(ultra-high-worth clients)来管理资产通过各种投资方式包括股票(equity)、债券(fixed ine)、外汇(currency)、大宗商品(modity)、基金(fund)等等。 根据客户的不同需求，比如增值或保值，来为客户量身订做portfolio。 PWM相比最下client exposure更早，也是最取决于soft/interpersonal skill的。 我觉得skill set主要是几点ability toget peoples trustand support,articulate anddeliver aplicated ideain simplelanguage andmarket sense.建议在选择的时候，多和在各个division做过的学长学姐和前辈们聊聊，选择12个自己喜欢和适合的，这非常重要。 应该说，每一个都是非常不同的工作，也需要非常不同的skill set。 Resume和Cover Letter:有两个网站有非常好的guideline，里面也有十分强大的模版。 大家可以去参考一下。 resourcesaround me-important skillsinaprofessional world最后再回到theme:I ama well-rounded personwith diversifiedexperience.3）这就和写paper一样。 walk throughresume也基本就是这样。 最后就是要多找人改，这非常重要，只有这样才能逐渐有一份像样的简历。 Wrap心得xx-12-0212:52|(分类:默认分类)很多人问怎么看市场，怎么做market wrap。 我简单谈谈我的心得。 第一，要不要看市场？市场一定要坚持天天看，每天花半个小时，无论是Wall StreetJournal、Financial Times还是Bloomberg，都可以。 刚开始一周会比较辛苦，但是一段时间之后了解了一个基本的trend就会轻松很多，等有了market sense之后基本你心里想的第二天就会发生。 再之后你就有事没事都想去瞧一眼。 第二，什么样的人应该看市场？所有market side的人都会看，无论是大行里的Sales&Trading、Asset Management和Private WealthManagement，还是像Janes StrertCapital、Two Sigma这些相对小的公司。 那么对这些行业有兴趣和准备面试的人也需要看。 在入行之前，看看Wall StreetJournal和Financial Times也就够了，一个比较general sense有了也就差不多了。 第三，怎么看市场？我这边说一种老少皆宜的方法。 其实这种东西没什么玄乎的，最好的就是top-down approach和bottom-up approach的结合。 而且这种东西其实不难，学什么的人都会。 先列一个macro
