Pre-readingShow a calendar and ask:Whats the date? Which season is it? What do you often do in winter?设计意图:复习二单元有关季节的句型,为新课导入做准备。II.While-reading1. Read the passage generally.设计意图:整体感知、了解Winter in Lapland.Summer in Australia.2. Read with the students, explain the key words and the important parts.(1) LaplandIts in the north. Winter is from October to May the next year. It is 8 months long.(2) 6 hours, 18 hoursIn winter we only have six hours of light.But it isnt really dark. There is lots of ice and snow.(3) Northern lightsThere are lots of colours in the sky.(4) ice hotelThe walls and the floors are made of ice. The ceilings are made of ice. Even the beds are ice, too.(5) Flying schoolThey live on a sheep farm. They dont go to school. They do their schoolwork on the computer. They also have a “flying school”.
