Manual for the Specifications of the 18.5-inch Hand Input Screen Key Safety Matters Needing Attention1. Please read all the specifications written in this manual at length and preserve this manual for reference in the future.2. Please observe all the notices and specifications on the monitor.3. When cleaning the monitor, you are supposed to unplug the monitor. No cleanser is allowed and it is correct to clean with soft saturated cloth.4. Please dont use accessories that are not recommended by the manufacturer, otherwise there might be danger.5. Dont place the monitor near water, such as bathtubs, washbasin, sinks, washing machines, damp basements, swimming pools, etc.6. Dont place the monitor on unstable surfaces thereby preventing the monitor from dropping and then injuring people or getting damaged. Only placement tables that are recommended by the manufacturer or sold together with the monitor are permitted. When installing wallboards and structures, please refer to the manufacturers specifications and use the installation tools that are approved by the manufacturer.7. The grooves and holes on the main case or its rear and bottom are designed for ventilation as well as for guaranteeing reliability of machine operation and avoiding being overheated. Dont place the monitor on beds, sofas, carpets or other similar surfaces thereby avoiding blocking vents and dont place the monitor in embedded devices.8. Only power supplies shown on the nameplates can be used for this monitor. If you have questions about the power supply type you are using, please consult the distributor of your monitor or the local power supply bureau.9. As safety precautions, this monitor is equipped with a single-phase three-wire plug. The third end of this plug is connected to ground. If your plug cannot be plugged into the socket, please contact electricians in time in order to replace the original power socket in order not to let the safety function of the single-phase three-wire plug become invalid.10. Power supply is the main electricity provider and dont place anything on the AC adapter. Dont place the power wire in places where users incline to move it erroneously.11. For the sake of protection, please switch off power if the monitor is not used. During blackouts or when the monitor is not used for a long time, the monitor is supposed to be unplugged from the socket thus preventing surges from impacting the monitor through the power wire.12. Dont overload the socket or lengthen the power wire, otherwise fire or electric shocks may be led to.13. Dont let any foreign body into the interior of the monitor from grooves in the main case thereby avoiding high-voltage electricity or preventing components from being short-circuited and resulting in fire or electric shocks. Prevent liquid from splashing on the monitor.14. If the monitor has a breakdown, dont open the main case or try to repair the monitor by yourself. Please ask eligible repairmen for comprehensive repair and maintenance.15. When the following situations occur, please unplug the monitor and ask eligible repairmen for comprehensive repair and maintenance: A. The power wire or plug is damaged or worn. B. There is liquid splashed into the main case.C. The monitor has been drenched. D. When the monitor cannot be used normally even though the specifications are closely referred to, please adjust the buttons designated in the manual because other improper adjustments may cause danger and it requires a great deal of repair and maintenance from repairmen to let the monitor get right. E. The monitor has fallen or the main case is damaged. F. When obvious abnormalities occur to the monitor, overhauls are needed.16. When having components replaced, you are supposed to guarantee that the repairmen are using substitute components specified by the manufacturer. These substitute components are in common with the original components in terms of function and performance. Unauthorized substitute components might lead to fire, electric shocks or other danger.17. When the overhaul for the monitor finishes, the repairmen should be required to conduct routine safety inspection in order to guarantee that the monitor is in a safe operating state.18. The plug is supposed to be placed near the monitor or in positions where it is easy to use.19. The power wire is the main circuit breaking equipment.Contents1. Brief Introductions1.1 Packing listAfter opening the packing, please confirm that the following articles are in the packing box:l LCDl AC adapterl Power wiresl Pen box (containing: pens, 4A batteries, standby nibs, pen clips, pen containers, Info Pen cryptographic cards)l Manuall Drive software CD If some of the articles above are missing, please contact your distributor.1.2 Overview of the monitor 1.2.1 Front view (Reference Drawing ) Drawing 1） LED monitor and hand input operation area accept hand-input text and image information, and then the data is transmitted to the PC.2） LED pilot lampWhen the monitor is functioning properly, the pilot lamp is green.Remarks: If the monitor displays no signal, please refer to the following procedures:1）First check whether the AC adapter is correctly connected and guarantee that the pilot lamp is on.2）Check whether all the ports are of fine contact or not.3）Whether or not the PC is properly set. The references for the settings of the PC are as follows:(1) Right click the desktop and click properties (2) Choose the option “setup” and click option “advanced” as is shown in Drawing :Drawing (3) Choose the option “visual display” and click the button “image properties” as is shown in Drawing : Drawing (4) Choose the option “multi-screen display” below “display equipment” and click “copy main display equipment”. Then click “confirm” as is shown in Drawing :Drawing 1.2.2 Overview of the pushbutton area (Reference Drawing )Drawing 1）AUTO: Automatic adjustment button. Pressing this button can adjust the screen image automatically. 2) MENU：Menu button. Pressing the menu button can activate OSD or conduct adjustment confirmation. 3）POWER：Power switch. It can switch on and switch off the monitor. 4） - ： Downward adjustment button. Adjustment functions: downward, towards the left or decrease)5） + ： Downward adjustment button. Adjustment functions: upward, towards the right or increase)1.2.3 Overview of the rear (Reference Drawing )Drawing 1）VGA input & USB outputFirst connect the VGA port with the PC by which the hand input screen can display the PC screen. The realization of hand input function requires the USB port to be connected with the USB port of the PC.2) DC IN port (power supply)Plug the port of the AC adapter into this port and then connect the AC adapter to the nearest AC socket.Remarks: there are 5 wire clips attached in the packing. They are used for binding VGA wires, AC adapter wires, etc.3) The mounting hole of the pen containerA pen container is given as a present with this product. It can be placed on a table as you please.1.2.4 The adjustment of the monitor support Please refer to Drawing . The angle of the monitor support can be adjusted thus to suit your visual angle.Drawing Remarks: There are accessories for the pen container and the accessories in this drawing are not to be used. The angel of the stand can be adjusted from 10to 80.1.3 Installation1.3.1 The requirements for operating systems If you are to use hand input function, please confirm whether your operating system belongs to one of the following:Windows 2000/Windows XP/Windows Vista/Windows 7 and aboveHand input function cannot be realized using other operating systems.1.3.2 Software installation 1）If your PC operating system is Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows 7, you must install hand input drive program. Installation procedures: (1) Insert the drive disk into the CD-ROM driver and run “Setup.exe”. Then the image will appear as is shown in Drawing :(2) Click “confirm” after finishing installation.Drawing 2）The procedures for realizing hand input function are as follows:(1) Restart the PC after finishing installation.(2) Find the location of the touchpad manager and then hand input function can be realized by launching the touchpad manager. 3）The procedures for the correcting the differences between where the pen clicks and the position on the screen are as follows: (1) After opening the touchpad manager, there will be a small icon at the lower right corner of the screen. Please refer to Drawing :Drawing (2) Right click the small icon, choose the option “Setup” and click “correct”. Then an image will appear as is shown in Drawing : Drawing (3) The pen is supposed to point at the intersection of the red lines vertically and then lightly press it. You can return to the last operation by pressing ESC.2. Operating instructions2.1 Setting proper resolutions Please adjust the monitor to the recommended resolutions: 136676860Hz.2.2 Instructions for the penThis is a kind of radio magnetic pen.There is a power switch on the pen. When the pen is not used, the pen is in the “shutdown” status, which can prolong the battery life. When using hand input operation, lightly press the upper button and then a small red dot will appear on the pen. At this moment, the pen is “on”. (Please refer to Drawing )Drawing 2.2.1 The elementary operation of the pen The pen can function in common with the mouse. Under the circumstance of the default settings of the pen, the nib functions in common with the left mouse button. When switching on the screen, the nib can conduct the following mouse operation:Click: Lightly touch the same position on the screen with the nib once.Double-click: Lightly touch the same position on the screen with the nib twice.Move: Lightly touch the screen with the pen in order to move, i.e. removable screen index.Drag: Choose the graphic button and the loose-leaf binder and then move the pen while pressing the nib.Remarks: The allowable angle of inclination of the pen is within 45. If 45is exceeded, it is likely that the pen cannot operate normally or the deviation between the nib and the cursor increases.2.2.2 Settings of the pen As is shown in Drawing , there is a button on the side view of the pen. It is divided into the upper button and the lower button. Movements in common with the mouse can be conducted with the nib and the two buttons on the side view. Please refer to the following descriptions for the default settings.Drawing 1）Lightly touching the screen with the nib is equal to clicking the left mouse button; 2） In the XP operating system, separating the nib from the screen slightly (within 5mm) and pressing the upper button once is equal to double-clicking the left mouse button; 3） In the VISTA operating system, implementing the operation stated in 2) with the pen is equal to clicking the right mouse button; 4） In the XP operating system, separating the nib from the screen slightly (within 5mm) and pressing the lower button once is equal to clicking the right mouse button; 5） In the VISTA operating system, the pointer will become circular and implement no operation if you implement the operation stated in 4) with the pen.2.2.3 Using pressure sensing function This product supports pressure sensing level of 1024. In the applied software that supports pressure sensing, there will be various shades and thicknesses of the written figures according to the force with which you write the figures if you choose the option “pressure sensing”. This can make your strokes more natural and vivid.2.3 Using OSD (screen image adjustment) The default language of the OSD menu is English. The procedures for changing it into Chinese are as follows:1）First press MENU and then enter the option “OSD MENU”; 2）Enter the option “Language”;3）Choose the option “Simplified Chinese”. 2.3.1 Color controlDrawing XIII1）Contrast: Adjusting the differences between the darkness and the luminance of the screen of the monitor. Press the buttons of “-“ and “+” to reduce and increase contrast.2）Luminance: Adjusting the background luminance of the screen images. Press the buttons of “-“ and “+” to reduce and increase luminance.3）Color level: There are three kinds of primary color that can be adjusted. Press the buttons of “-“ and “+” to reduce and increase primary color.4）Color temperature: There are five kinds of color temperature to choose from. With different kinds of color temperature, the color of the screen images will be different.2.3.2 Image controlDrawing XIV1）Clock: Adjusting the vertical blinking of the characters on the screen. 2）Phase: Adjusting the horizontal blinking of the characters on the screen. 3）Sharpness: There are 5 kinds of sharpness to choose from. 4）Horizontal position: Adjusting the images left and right by using thebuttons of “-“ and “+”.5) Upright position: Adjusting the images downward and upward by using thebuttons of “-“ and “+”. 2.3.3 Menu controlDrawing XV1）Horizontal position: Adjusting the OSD position left or right by using the buttons of “-“ and “+”.2）Upright position: Adjusting the OSD position downward and upward by using the buttons of “-“ and “+”. 3）Menu time: Reduce and increase the residence time of the OSD menu by using the buttons of “-“ and “+”. 4）Language selection: There are seven kinds of OSD menu languages to choose from.2.3.4 Other controlReset: All the options are restored to the default positions.Volume: Turn down and turn up the volume by pressing the buttons of “-“ and “+”. The silent mode can be set.3. If not, please refer to the PC users manual or other documents to solve this problem. Please refer to 1.2.2 and correctly connect the RGB input signal wire.If you connect the monitor with a laptop, please correctly connect the RGB signal wire after starting the laptop. In the option of display mode settings, switch to the external RGB display mode (There are different switch methods for different laptops. Please refer to the PC users manual and other documents).Whether the pilot lamp is green or not? If the monitor and the PC are in hibernation, please press the keyboard and mouse to restart the system.Is the signal wire broken or bent? If so, please replace the signal wire.Images are blurredThe authentic (physical) resolution of the 19-inch widescreen LCD is 1366768.
