Education ideas Establishment relaxed English study atmosphere, and let the students have the full display initiative and the creative space. Lead the students to read and form the preliminary English reading ability for them. II. Teaching goals Be able to listen, speak, read and write the new words and expressions. Be able to understand, read, write and speak time exactly. Know that we should cherish the time. Be glad to share own feelings in groups. III. Teaching key and difficulties Teaching focuses: Let the students listen, speak and read the new words and expressions:Words: clock, time, oclock Sentences: -What time is it? / Whats the time? -Its six oclock / one fifteen / a quarter past one / four thirty / half past five Teaching Difficulties: Correctly express specific time. T: Today we will learn a new unit. At first lets enjoy an English song I CAN COUNT TO A HUNDRED. (The students learned it before. So they can sing together.)T: Wow! Very well! Design Intent: The students can count from one to one hundred by singing the song. And we can review the numbers and prepare for the correct expression of specific time. And you know strong catchy music rhythm can stimulate students enthusiasm and confidence of English learning. ii. Presentation Part 1:T: There is a picture. Please have a look. Whats it? Ss: Its a clock. (Teacher writes the word on the blackboard.) T: What do we do with the clock? Ss: Time. T: Yes, you are right. We can know the time with clock. (Teacher writes the word on the blackboard.)Part 2: T: There are three songs here. Which one do you want to watch first? (The students vote on songs order.)Song One: WHAT TIME IS IT What time is it? Its two oclock. What time is it? Its three oclock. What time is the party? The party is at four oclock. (Repeat again.)Design Intent: We extract the key word and the main sentence patterns and then write them on the blackboard: at, What time is it? Its oclock. Song Two: WHAT TIME IS IT, Mr. Wolf What time is it? What time is it? What time is it? What time is it, Mr. Wolf? Its one oclock, two oclock, three oclock, four oclock, five oclock, six oclock, seven oclock, eight oclock, nine oclock, ten oclock, eleven oclock, twelve oclock. Its dinner time. (Repeat again.)(Sing together. And then I will divide the students into two groups. Group 1 will sing the singular time. Group 2 will sing the dual time. )Design Intent: Show the main sentences if students preferred it. Review the sentences if they choose later. Song Three: WHATS THE TIME Whats the time? T: You did a good job! Look! These are the key sentences. Lets read together. Students read together. Part 3: T: Please look at the screen. Its time to exercise. There are two games. One is easy. And another one is hard. Which one do you want to challenge first? Design Intent: Penetration main sentence patterns to students.(It is to choose the correct time and say in Game 1. I will ask the students play it one by one. It is to speak out the correct time and type on the computer in Game 2. I will manage the students speak out the time and I will type on the computer. And then they will get the results. The students will choose and play in order. ) Design Intent: Let the kids consolidate the key words and expressions in the playtime through two games. In addition, every child will have the opportunity to show their English when they play the layered game and improve their confidence. iii. Production T: Now its time to read. There is a story. Group 3 will write the activities. Group 4 will count from 1 to 60. And the other three groups should hand in the post cards to the first desks in your line. Ready! Go! T: One student from Group Four will choose the post card and have a dialogue with any one. (Teacher makes a display model. And then let the students play this game.) Design Intent: If we can learn English very well, we will use English well. In order to have a relaxed conversation in English, I designed this activity and randomly selected students to practice.
