Unit 7 Whats the highest mountain in the world?Section A 3a-3c丰城四中 付佳一、Analysis of teaching materials 教材分析The content of my lesson is Junior English Grade Eight Book Two Unit Seven Which is the highest mountain in the world? The lesson is the second period of this unit. It mainly talks about the facts and dangers of Qomolangma. Such topic is easy to cause students interests on the knowledge about mountain climbing. Meaning-while, helping the students learn the spirit of brave mountain climbers. This is just the moral aims. And by teaching scanning skill can help students to improve their reading abilities. Whats more, the grammar is about the usage of comparative and superlative.二、Analysis of the students 说学情Students are the main participators, so the teaching mainly depends on the students. Due to the geography class, most students more or less have basic knowledge about Qomolangma , students are interested in the topic. As the grammar points, students have already learned the change rules of comparative and superlative, it is not so difficult for them to learn the usage of them further.三、Teaching aims 教学目标1.Knowledge aims:Master key words and sentences. Use Comparatives and Superlatives form correctly to talk about Qomolangma. 2.Ability aims:Help students to master scanning skill through searching for specific information.3.Emotional aims:Encourage students to overcome difficulties and face the challenges.四、 Teaching important and difficult points教学重难点 1.重点是掌握本课重点词汇、重点句型,学习比较级和最高级的用法。并且培养学 生的阅读能力。Key words and target language。The usage of Comparatives and Superlatives form.Reading skill- scanning.2. 难点是形容词比较级和最高级构成法及正确运用。 Use Comparatives and Superlatives form correctly. Reading skill- scanning.五、Teaching and learning methods 教法与学法1Task-based teaching method:It focuses on the use of authentic language and on asking students to do meaningful tasks using the target language2.Team competition:It can motivate students interests by setting up games and prizes. Let students learn within the games.3Multimedia teaching method:Teaching tools like tape-player, video, PowerPoint and so on, can help build a good teaching environment and present information lively for students to learn.六、Teaching Procedures 教学过程I divide the class into six parts. There are Lead-in, Presentation new words, Skimming, Scanning, Learning key and difficult points, Summary and homework. Before the class, divide students into three group for competitions.Step 1 导入阅读(Lead-in)5 minsShow two pictures of Qomolangma to lead in the topic of this unit.Ask:Did you climb any mountains before? Were you in any dangerous situations? Let some ss present their answers.Then show a video about the snow slide of Qomolangma. That can cause ss interests immediately. And ask:What are the dangers when we climb a mountain like Qomolangma? Ss say some danger situations, like snow slide and thin air. Step 2 词汇攻破(Present new words) 5 minsPresent and explain new words: achievement, southwestern, thick, include, condition, succeed, achieve, force, nature.Step 3快速阅读(Skimming) 6 mins阅读策略Skimming: It means looking quickly through a piece of writing to find the main idea without reading every word.Finish 3a:Match each paragraph with the main ideas.阅读课文,把每段的主题思想与对应的段落连接起来。(Game One:Three groups find out the main ideas of each paragraph in turns. One point for one paragraph,zero point if wrong.)Step 4寻读( Scanning)10 mins阅读策略Scanning:It means moving your eyes quickly down the page to find specific information.(1)Finish 3b:Read the article again and complete the chart.再读课文,根据skimming的段落主题,分段练习,完成表格。(List four dangers for climbers, three achievements and four comparisons.)(2)Finish 3c:Answer the questions using information from the article.在课文中找到依据并回答问题。(Game Two:Quick Response Questions,one point for one question.)Step 5 重难点知识讲解(Learning key and difficult points) 15 mins1.The regular and irregular changing rules of comparative and superlative form .形容词和副词的比较级的变化2.Use the comparative and superlative form correctly. Explain the sentence structures and do practices.Step 6 总结和作业(Summary and homework) 4 mins1. Summary the key and difficult points. 总结本课时主要基本知识点。2. Encourage ss to fight for their dreams by learning famous saying.通过学习名人名言,培养学生为了梦想而努力奋斗的精神。3. Homework: Recite 3a and finish workbook SA 3a-3c. Review the usage of comparative and superlative.7、 Blackboard design 说板书 1. The regular and irregular changing rules of comparative and superlative form .2. Sentence structures.1.
