Unit 6 Im going to study computer science.(Period 1, Book II Section A) Part 1: Analysis of the Teaching Material:一.Teaching contents: the first period (1a-1c) in Unit10. 二.Status and function:This unit is aiming at talking about future intentions with the pattern of want to be, be going to while learning the what, where, when, how questions. And this lesson is the first one in this unit, well mainly use “ I want to be”to review the names of the jobs we learnt before, and use the structure “be going to+do ”to talk about jobs. So through learning, Ss can accept the knowledge and arouse their learning interests and plan for their ideal jobs.三. Teaching Aims and Demands:A. Knowledge aims:1). To learn and master the new vocabulary and the target language. 2).Using “be going to +do” to ask and answer, and talk about their future intentions .B. Abilities aims:To improve the students abilities of listening, speaking and cooperating.C. Emotional aims:1.Cultivate the spirits of cooperation2.Encourage the students to love their lives, and work hard for their future. 四. Teaching Key Points:1. Master the key vocabulary, especially these new words and phrases : programmer, engineer, pilot, grow up, computer science ,professional player.2. To use the target language to ask and answer:. What are you going to be when you grow up? Im going to be a /an . How are you going to do that? Im going to study hard/ play basketball every day.五:Teaching Difficult Points:Use the target language to talk about the future inventions.六 Teaching Aids :tape player, A projector七The time Table of Teaching Steps:1. Lead-in: greeting and guess.( It will take me 5 minutes.)2. Presentation: This is the most important part in this lesson. (It will take me 25 minutes).3. Pair work .( It will take me 3 minutes)4. Make a survey.( It will take me 5 minutes) 5. Summary and homework. (It will take me 2 minutes)Part 2:Learning Method Analysis: 1. Teach the students how to be a successful language learners. 2. Let the students pass “observation-imitation-practice” to study language. 3. To use the information-gap task to raise their communicative competence. Encourage the students take part in some activities like working in pairs, discussing in groups, and so on, to improve their abilities of using language. Part 3: Teaching Method Analysis:1.“Task-based” teaching method :in this lesson, the students will finish some tasks by making a survey to help the Ss to get a better understanding of the key structure .2.Listening method, by learning, to train students speaking skill .3.Wathching and communicative teaching method. The students will ask and answer in a group or part work during this period. It can improve their cooperating skill.Part 4: Teaching Procedure:Step 1: Lead-in 1.Greet the class,(Good- ! How are you? Im a teacher, what do you do? What do you want to be?)2.Guess: Show a picture about a baby, let the students discuss in a group, and guess what she or he wants to be when she or he grows up, next ask Ss to write down the jobs they know. The group which wrote most words in two minutes is No 1.3. Get two groups to write the words on the blackboard ,then read together.Step 2 : Presentation 1.Show some pictures on the screen, then ask,” Whos this?-He/She is -“Then ask again “what does he/she do?” Help Ss answer “ He/she is a pilot/an engineer”Like this, lead students to learn new words. Show the new words on the screen and read together. 2. Present the new target language: What are you going to be when you grow up? Help Ss use new words to answer “ Im going to be a/ an-” And then ask and answer in pairs. 3. After that, ask the students, ”in order to make your dream come true ,how are you going to do that?” Show some pictures to help students learn the target language: take acting lessons, study computer science, practice basketball every day, study math really hard and so on. 4.Listening(1b). Play the tape, ask the students to draw lines connecting the jobs and the activities, then check the answers.(Maybe listen twice), at last read the sentences together. 5. Rank the jobs(1-6). Ask a student to write the six jobs on the blackboard, get the other students to put a 1 after the most interesting job. Put a 2 after the second most interesting job, and so on., at last make students find out three most interesting jobs.(finish 1a)and do a survey how many students like the same job.Step 3. Pair work. Put the class into groups of four, ask and answer like this:.What are you going to be when you grow up? . 2.How are you going to do that?Step 4. Make a survey. First get one student to ask the other students in each group and fill in the chart. NamesWhat is he/she going to be when he/she grows up?Why is he/she going to be a/an-?How is he/she going to do that? Then encourage one student to report their survey like this: Zhou Tao is going to be an engineer when he grows up. He is going to study math really hard.Step 5. Summary and homework1. Summary. Today we have started a new unit learning, use the structure” be going to +do” to talk about the future intentions. A good plan is a good start. You know what you are going to do and you plan for that. This is a good start to a success.2. Homework: Write a shor
