Unit 5 Grammar-定语从句 （关系副词与介词+关系代词）一、Revision（关系代词）（表一）先行词主语宾语定语人who, thatwhom (who), thatwhose物which, thatwhich, thatwhose, of which二、关系副词的用法(1)定义：关系副词引导定语从句时，既引导定语从句，又在定语从句中充当状语，相当于介词+关系代词。（2）关系副词的表格如下：（表二）关系副词指代在从句中的作用when (=at/in/on/during/ which) 时间 时间状语where (=in/at/ which) 地点 地点状语why (=for which) 原因 原因状语（3）具体用法：1. when表示时间，只能跟在表时间的名词后。相当于on/in which1)Tell me the time when the train leaves.2)July, when (=in which ) we can go home for a rest, is coming soon.2. where 表示地点，只能跟在表地点或场合的名词后。相当于in which（ 注意：where不在从句中作主语或宾语。）v What is the name of the town where (in which) we stayed last night?v Think of a place where (in which) we can go for dinner.v Please leave the book at the place where (in which) it was.3. why表示原因，通常跟在reason后引导定语从句。相当于for whichv I dont know the reason why ( for which) he left here.v This is the reason why (= for which) he cried.习题演练：用关系副词或关系代词填空。(注意：先行词在定语从句中的成分不同, 引导词不同。)1). a. Is this the house _Lincoln once lived?三、介词+关系代词 的用法（1）定义：在定语从句中，介词+关系代词作状语，故有时可相当于一个关系副词。Eg: This is the reason why (= for which) he cried.（2）相关表格见以上表格二。（3）介词的选择根据从句中谓语动词/形容词的习惯搭配来选用介词。Eg: This is the book on which I spent 8 yuan. for which I paid 8 yuan.根据先行词的搭配习惯来选用介词。Eg: I remember the days on which I joined the League. the days during which I lived here. the month in which I stayed there.根据从句中动词与先行词的逻辑关系，请体会：e.g. Is that the newspaper for which you often write articles?注意：介词+关系代词中不能有“介词+that”。只有介词+which(指物)，介词+whom（指人）。习题演练：（用介词+关系代词填空）1.
