In 1910 there were almost 14 million agricultural workers in the US. This number remained fairly stable for twenty years, dropping only to about 13 million in 1930. However, between 1930 and 1975 the number of labourers plunged. It fell from 13 million in 1935 to just over 4 million in 1975, a drop of about 66%.
