Unit 9 What does he look like?Section A 1 (1a-2c)一、教学目标: 1. 语言知识目标: 1) 在听说训练中,学生能掌握本课重点词汇:long/short /curly/ straight hair, tall, medium, thin, heavy, tonight, little, cinema, glasses, later 2)通过听说训练能掌握以下句型:What does he look like? She has long straight hair.Is he tall or short?3)通过描述外貌,培养学生的观察能力,并学会欣赏别人的长处和优点,增进同学友谊。2. 情感态度价值观目标:让学生学会友好、客观地描述人的外貌特征。二、教学重难点1. 教学重点: 掌握单词,熟练掌握描述人的形象的句型。2. 教学难点: 1) 学会运用What doeslook like?询问某人的外貌,并能作出相应回答。 2) 掌握描述外貌时,is/has,are/have的用法区别。 3)理解选择疑问句的句式特点,并能在日常对话和书面表达中恰当使用和正 确运用。三、教学过程. Lead-in1、 教师先用教过学生的句型和短语,向学生介绍教师自己的外貌特征。然后让学生仿照老师的示范,两个同学相互介绍彼此的样貌,和优点。并表示彼此想成为好朋友的意愿。2、 介绍完,老师进行点评,并指出介绍别人的外貌特征应该从Height,Build,Hair以及other features四方面入手。3、 老师引导学生翻开课本49页,听录音,然后看1a的图片,思考如下问题:. Look at the picture of 1a and think about the questions:1. How many people are there in the picture?2. Where are they?3. What are the two girls doing?4. Can you describe the people in the picture?2. Learn some new words and phrases. Presentation (Section A 1a)1. Match the words with the people in the picture. (1a)学习课本的第一部分P49,1a 先看图片,然后搭配图片和相关的外貌特征的词。Now please look at P49, Use the letters to match the people in the picture with one of the numbered words. Write each letter next to a numbered word. You can use some letters more than once. Point out the sample answer.留2-3分钟读写1a中的单词、短语。练习对话,引导学生熟悉有关描述人的外貌特征的词2. 1b Listen and fill in the blanks in the picture above. Can you find Amys friend?A: Is that your friend?B: No, it isnt.A: What does he look like? Is he short or tall?B: Well, hes really _. And he has _.Listen to the dialogue of 1b again and try to find the sentence pattern for asking peoples appearance and the sentences for describing people.What does he look like? Is he short or tall?He is really tall. He has curly hair. 3. 通过图片展示以问答的形式练习对话。. Practice (Section A 1c)1. Read the conversation and recite it.2. Practice like the conversation according to some pictures.Summary What does/do + 主语 + look like?:“看上去什么样?” (look like 看起来像)What does he/she look like ?他/她长什么样子?回答:“主语 + be + 描述人物外貌特征的形容词”或 “主语 + have/has + 名词” He/She is tall.他/她很高。 He/She has short hair.他/她留有短发描述人的长相用动词be还是have/has 1. be (is, am, are) + 形容词: tall 高的/ short矮的 / heavy重的 / thin瘦的 of medium height 中等身高的 of medium build中等体形的 2. have / has + 名词词组 short / long hair straight /curly hair big / small eyes. Listening (2a & 2b)1. Listen and answer the questions. (2a)1. Is David tall or short? _2. Does Sally have long or short hair? _3. Is peter tall or short? _2. Listen again and fill in the chart. (2b)DavidSallyPeterishas3. Describe David, Sally, Peters appearances according to the information of 2b. u David is heavy and tall. He has curly hair.u Sally is thin and of medium height. She has long straight hair.u Peter is short. He has short hair. Practice (2c)1. Student A looks at the chart in 2b. Student B asks Student A questions about one of the people and then draws a picture of the person quickly.2. Act the dialogue.3.Ask two students to do pairwork first.4.Then,Ask some pairs to Role-play the conversation.5.After that,divide the whole class into two groups:boys and girls ,do group works. Language points1、 描述人的长相用动词be还是have/has.1. be(am/is/are)+形容词,用于描述身高、体格: Tall高的/ short矮的/ heavy重的/ thin瘦的/of medium height 中等身高/of medium build中等身材。2. have/has+名词词组,用于描述头发,脸型,五官等:Short/long hairStraight/curly hairBig/small eyes二、wear一般用作及物动词,可直接接名词,用于描述眼镜,配饰、衣着等。(注意:描述人物穿戴时,学生常会忘记在第三人称单数的动词wear后加“-s”,否定句会误写成“not wear”.否定句一般用dont wear 或者doesnt wear)三、观察Is he tall or short?句型结构,它是一般疑问句还是选择疑问句?此类型句式特点为:Is/Are/Do/Does/or?,即在一般疑问句句尾添加和另一个选择项,在朗读时一般疑问句用升调,or后面另一个选择项用降调。4、 观察1a,1c描述人的外貌的句子,如:He is tall.And he has curly hair.在描述外貌的形容词前用be动词(am,is,are),在描述外貌的名词前用have/has.5、 做巩固练习:1. He (is/has)tall.He (is/has)heavy.And he (is/has)heavy.And he(is/has)curly hair.2. She (is/has)of medium height.She (is/has)thin.And she(is/has)long hair.六、He isnt tall or short. 他不高也不矮。 英语在受到否定概念限定的部分中一般不用and, 而用or。 e.g. I dont have any brothers or sisters. 我没有兄弟和姐妹。在以上这种用法中,or相当于and not。试比较:Sophie never cleans or even offers to wash the dishes. =Sophie never cleans and does not even offer to wash the dishes. 索菲从不打扫房间,甚至从不主动洗碗。Finish some exercises.Play a game.用几张明星的照片,给学生比眼力。让学生抢答。用What does he/she look like?提问。.Do some exercises. Look at the pictures and fill in the blank in the dialogue.看图补全对话。.学习一句谚语:Dont judge a person by th
