新目标七下第五单元第一课时教案Unit 5 Why do you like pandas?The First Period (Section A, 1a2c)教学目标 1. To observe and describe animals. 2.2To talk about their preferences 3. 学会表述动物的单词。 4. 学会why的疑问句及其回答。 5. 学会简单描述动物的形容词。Language points (语言点)1. 词汇:1) 名词n. koala,tiger,elephant, panda,lion, giraffe, zoo, map 2) 形容词adj. cute, smart2. 句型:Lets see the lions. Why do you want to see the lions? Because theyre cute.Difficulties (教学难点)重点1) 学会描述动物的性格及特点。 难点名词的复数形式表示一类事物;第三人称单数形式Teaching steps (教学步骤)1. Warm-up and revision(课堂热身和复习) (1)Daily greetings to Ss. (2) Listen to a song.【教学设计说明】本单元主要话题是描述动物,通过一首许多学生都听过的狮子王的插曲引出本单元话题动物。2. Presentation (呈现新知识)And ask some questions about animals:Do you like to go to the zoo?Do you like animals?Then have them to recall the animals they had learned and write them on the blackboard as he/she can.( e.g. animals-sheep, monkey, cat, dog, mouse, cow, duck )3. Work on 1a (完成1a)Get Ss to match the words with the animals in the picture on p. 25. Check the answers.【教学设计说明】通过1a的练习,使学生进一步学会运用新单词。和学生一起谈论图片,目的在于引导学生学会使用动物单词。4. Work on 1b (完成1b)5. Step Four: ListeningWork on 1b.Tell Ss to listen to the tape and check the animals they hear in 1a.Play the recording again and check the answers with the class.Step Five: Pair work1. Ask the students to imagine “ We are in the zoo, there are many kinds of animals here.”Then ask a student to do the model with you: Lets see the lions first.Why? (why do you /does she /does he like lions?)Because they are interesting.2. Ss work with their partners practice the conversation using the animal in 1a.5. Drill (练习) Ask some Ss to repeat the conversation with different animals this time. T: Lets play a game. Take turns repeating the conversation in the picture in pairs. But remember to talk about different animals each time.(第一轮应提问成绩较好的学生,第二轮提问成绩较差的学生)【教学设计说明】此环节为机械操练,使不同层次学生初步掌握目标语言。机械操练是英语初始阶段教学必不可缺的部分,学生要先从模仿到初步掌握,最后才能熟练应用。机械操练时应注意着重提问成绩较差的学生,由于机械操练比较简单,因此是激发后进生兴趣,培养后进生自信的一个很好的途径。6. Work on 1c (完成1c)Get Ss to work in pairs and practice the conversation in 1c, then make conversations about the other animals in the picture using the words in the box. Ask some pairs to present their conversations to the class.【教学设计说明】此环节是让学生运用所学句型来进行操练,有利于巩固所学句型。7. Work on 2a & 2b (完成2a和2b)(1) Julia and John are at the zoo. Listen to their conversation in 2a and write the animals you hear. Then match the animals with the description words.Check the answers. Explain the words “very” and “kind of”.(2) Let Ss complete the conversation in 2b first.Have Ss get into groups to share their ideas.Listen and check the answers. Ask some groups to present their conversations to the class.【教学设计说明】此环节进一步巩固了本堂课所学的词汇和句型。通过反复听读,可以让学生尽快熟悉生词。学生填表格,是检查学生能否听懂并拼写所学单词。8. Work on 2c (完成2c)1. Julia likes koalas. Where are koalas from?2. Describe a kind of animal and let Ss guess what it is.(He is from South Africa. He likes meat a lot and he is very dangerous. He is the king of the animals.)3. Have Ss ask their classmates about their favorite animals and the reasons why they like them. Ss can use the words from the boxes in 2a and 2b.
