Learn some phrases and how to ask and talk about what people are doing.T:Hello, boys and girls. How are you?S:Im fine, thanks. And you?T:Im fine, too. Now lets look at some pictures.T: Hello ,What does she do?S:She is a student.T:What is she doing now?S: She is ?T: Oh, she is swimming. Read after me.S: She is swimmingT: Do you like swimming?S: Yes, we do.T: Well done. So today we are going to learn the unit 6, please turn to the page31, please tell me the title, Im watching TV. OK, now lets look at the language goal,today we will learn to talk aboutwhat people are doing.Step II Match work (1a: P31)In this procedure , students will learn the phrases and learn to talk about what they are doing.T: Boys and girls. Do you know what they are doing in the picture on page 31 1a?Can you tell the phrases for them?S: Yes , picture a istalking on the phone; b ismaking soup; c iswashing the dishes and so on.T: Very good! Then do you know other people are doing with the phrases on the left? Can you find them out in the picture? First, Id like you to practice reading the phrases on the left, talk with your partner about the pictures and then tell me what you see in it.After three minutes. Point to the pictures and let students tell out what people are doing in the picture on page 31. Ask students to say their names.Then ask students to match the phrases with the pictures. Then check the answers.T: In the picture, we can see many people. They are doing many kinds of things. Now please work in pairs and read the conversations. Then listen to the three short conversations and finish activity1b.Step III Listening (1b: P31)Purpose : To help Ss recognize the target language in natural speech.Listening for namesBefore1b, have Ss close their textbooks and listen to the recording. Ask Ss to write down all the names they hear .This will make it easier when they open their books and listen again to try and identify what each person is doing.StepPair work (1c:P31)Ask the students to practice the conversations above in pairs and then make their own conversations using the target language.Purpose :To help Ss use thetarget language in natural speech.Move around the classroom to help the students and then ask a pair of students to say the conversation for the classSample dialogue:S1: Whats he doing?S2: Hes using the computer .S1:What are they doing?S2:Theyre listening to a CD.Step V Listening (2a, 2b:P32)Purpose : To give Ss listening practice with the target language.Imagine the sceneIn 2a, have Ss try to imagine the scene for each conversation. This can help them better recall the conversation. This can be useful if Ss find it difficult to remember the content of a listening passage when required to answer questions about it afterwards. Follow this procedure:1.Have Ss close their eyes while they listen for the first time.2.Playing the recording.3.Ask Ss to open their eyes. T : Where do you think Steve and Jack are? What do you think Steve and Jack look like?4.Compare answers as a class. Did any Ss imagine the scene to be the same place? Did any Ss describe Steve and Jack in a similar way?5.Listen to the recording again.6.Have Ss open their books and answer the questions in 2a .StepPair work (2c: P32)Purpose :To give Ss the opportunity to use the target language in conversations.Ask students to work in pairs to practice the above conversations and give answers that are tr
