Aims of knowledge A: Learn some words about peoples build, height, hair B: Sentence structures: What does he /she look like? What do you/ they look like? He/she is tall/ short/of medium height. They are thin/fat/of medium build. He has long/ short hair. C. Grammar: the differences between “is” and “has” ii. Aims of AbilityA. Learn to talk about and describe what people look likeB. Get Ss to do pair-work to describe peoples appearanceC. Get Ss to practise listening, discussing , role playing iii. Aims of emotions Train Ss to describe peoples appearance, lead them to watch each other carefully . Love life and bring up the feeling of beauty.II. Teaching main and difficult points A: Master the new words of peoples build, height, hair and the usage of the basic sentence patterns of describing people B: Let Ss describe peoples appearance and write a short passage C: the usage of “is” and “has”III.Analysis of the Students:They have learnt some simple words of animals before, average level, and relatively high motivation; a bit weak in grammar. Teaching procedures:Step 1: Lead- in Show a picture of our classmates and let Ss to introduce our classmates to orther people.Step 2: Pre-listening 1. Show some pictures of some Ss in our classand ask SsWhat does he/she look like? He/She has long/ short hair. He/She is short / heavy/ of medium build. He/She has curly / straight hair. He/ She is tall and thin.2. In order to check if Ss can remember all the new words, Teacher will ask Ss to describe some Ss in our class.Step 3 While-listening1.Finish 1b and then ask Ss to check the answes. Its very easy for my Ss now, so I wont spend too much time on it.2. Play a guessing game. In this way Ss will master the way to describe a person. In the same time, it can arouse Sss interesting.3. Finish 2a and 2b,and then check the answers by themselves. After checking the right answers, Ss will imitate the tapes.4. As the aim to improve Sss listening ability, Ss will be asked to watch a video about how to describe ones apperance and answer my question.Step 4: After listening1. Group workSs will role play a policeman to help other to find the lost child. Ss will asked to describe ones apprance clearly, and we will find out Who is the best actor. Step 5: Homework1.
