Unit 2 My favorite seasonLets learnPart 1 . General Introduction1. Analysis of Teaching Material & Target StudentsThe lesson type is listening and reading. It is a topic about seasons.The topic focuses on seasons and talks about activitiesi in different seasons. The topic is closely related to students daily life, so its interesting and meaningful to students. In this lesson, students learn to love and enjoy the natures beauty. The students are the fifth graders.To some extent, they have developed the ability of reading and speaking. But they have difficulties in thinking creatively and expressing their opinions freely. 2. Teaching Aims Based on analysis of teaching material and target students, the teaching aims are designed as follows:1. Knowledge goals1.Cognize the vocabulary of this class:spring,summer, autumn,winter, go on a picnic,go swimming,pick apples,make a snowman.2. Ability goalsUse the sentence “Which season do you like best” to ask their classmates or friends and can answer the questions according to the actual situation.3. Emotion goalsGuide students to pay attention to the change of seasons and feel and enjoy the beauty of nature.key points1.To be able to listen,speak, read and write the words and phrases about seasons.2.To be able to use sentence patterns “Which season do you like best?”Difficult points1.To be able to master and use the words and phrases in this class.2 To be able to express the seasons about their own lives. 4 . Teaching methodsIn orderto achieve the teaching aims, stress the key points and break through the difficult points, Iused heuristic,communicative,and task-based approach to teach this lesson. Part 2 . Teaching procedures:Now I would like to introduce my teaching procedures in details. There are mainly seven parts.Step 1 Lead-in To lead in the lesson, I will first play a video and ask them to answer which season can you see in the video.Purpose of my design: The video will attract students attention, stimulate their interest and more importantly,it can get students go back to the class and introduce the topic.At the same time ,let them know what they are going to learn.Step 3 practice(play the games) 1.Quick answer, that is, if I say the seasons in English, the Ss should say them in Chinese, if I say them in Chinese , they will say in English.(This can get every student to take part in this game and make 100% students to master the phrases,because theyre important and basic.)2.Flash card,that is, I will show some pictures about seasons very quick ,first, get Ss to say out only one season once,then,get Ss to say out two or three seasons once,at last , get Ss to say out four seasons once. (From this, the Ss can train their memories and response,besides,they can challenge themselves to be better students .)The two games can get students master words and phrases adequately.There are enough inputs.Step 4ConsolidationBased on this step ,in order to inspire Ssimagination,so I encourage them to describe four seasons in different phrases and sentences.You can imagine How happy they are,the Ss can take part in this activity bravely and actively, for example,maybe they can say out : fly a kite , eat ice -cream, go skating and so on.After the Ss say out enough phrases and sentences,I catch the key moment,lead in the goal language point,it is “Which season do you like best?” It is to get Ss to master the goal language as quickly as possible.I will use brainstorm to ask Ss one by one,I ask “Which season do you like best”,wow, the Ss answer me quickly and very well,I think my students are very great, they can study by themselves and learn actively,so I feel happy and excited.Step 5 (Free talk and a game )Lets come to the next part , to arouse the Ssinterest of autonomic learning and cooperative learning and to improve the senses of the cooperation,I design the free talk, As we all know,some students may be shy,so this activity can get them to be confident,I will give them a show chance,yeah,two or three pairs will be invited to the front of the the classroom.I believe they can really do well.As you can see ,there are eight numbers with different hidden questions,the Ss can choose one of them and if they get the right answer, they can get corresponding points,the questions are in different levels,the most difficult question is to the highest points, now lets see together “who is the best?”After learning so many words and phrases,they also have enough input, they may be tired,so I design a game “Who is the lucky dog? ”,then they will feel relaxed,and I can find out who is the best in this class,some gifts are for them.step 6 Homework1.Teach your parents how to read the seasons at home.2.Interview some students about “which season do you like best ?”, then present them next class.(You can choose one or two)Part 3 Blackboard designAt last ,lets come to the teaching reflection.In this class,I try my best to choose the most beautiful pictures and the most suitable video I think for the Ss.At the same time ,I give the Ss the chance to experience and explore the beauty in different seasons
