Unit7 Period 1Reading A (阅读课)一、定位: input-based,阅读理解为主,渗透阅读微技能的训练。二、教学目标:1. 通过多种形式的阅读活动与任务,帮助学生理解课文。 2. 指导学生运用一定的阅读理解学习策略,培养一些阅读微技能,如:扫读,获取文章大意;通过文中的细节描写,归纳出故事中四种特别植物的特点。3. 指导学生归纳故事的主要内容,能复述故事四种特别的植物。4. 拓展日常生活中的词汇,开阔学生的视野。三、教学环节设计:1. Leading-inAsk the Ss:1. Do you like plants? 2. Are you familiar with plants?3. Can you guess what we will talk about today?Today I would like to introduce Some strange plants to you.The title is “The weird world of plants.”Do you think it would be interesting? Why?2. Pre-reading (1) Teach new words according to the pictures. (2) Prediction: answer the questions in A1.3. While - reading(1) Fast reading:Ss read the passage fast paragraph by paragraph and try to find out the answers on the blanks.(2) Read it again and check the answers in A3. Try to find out some evidences which can prove your idea.(3) Reading for details and finish A4: 4. LearningAsk the Ss to find out the main line of this story and deal with some useful expressions in the passage at the same time. Guide the Ss to learn and use them to talk about this story in their own ways. (With some language support.) 5. Post-reading(1) Retell the story about the strange plants . Do you think the boys will find out the truth? Can you make a dialogue between them? What will happen next?6Homework.(1) Write a short passage to talk about one of the four strange plants.(2) 完成练习册内相关练习。Unit 7 Period 2Reading B一、定位: input-based,阅读理解为主。二、教学目标:1. 通过多种形式的阅读活动与任务,帮助学生理解课文。 2. 指导学生运用一定的阅读理解学习策略,培养一些阅读微技能,如:扫读,梳理故事人物关系及内容。3. 指导学生归纳故事的主要情节,并能复述故事大意;最后让学生发挥想象力,构思接下来的故事情节。4. 拓展本文相关的词汇,开阔学生的视野。三、教学环节设计:1. Revision-CompetitionAsk the students to retell the story of “The weird world of plants”. Get the whole class to vote for the best story teller.2. Leading-in Brainstorming:(1) Before reading the story, discuss some questions with a partner.(2) Finish B1 and check answers.3. While-reading(1) Get the Ss to read the passage and answer the questions. Check the answers in class. Highlight reading sub-skill on how to sort out the relationship in a story.(2) Get the Ss to read the passage again and underline some useful expressions.(3) Learning: Guide Ss to observe and discuss how to use some useful expressions or difficult sentences.4. Post-readingRole-play Ask Ss to work in groups of five and act out this story.5. Discussion(1) Ss discuss in groups of four and guess what will happen next based on the information in the text.(2) Get some Ss to tell the class his/her opinions.6. Supplementary reading (Optional)(本文作为泛读文章,供弹性处理。)(1) Ss finish the multiple choice questions in the study paper. (2) Check the answers in class.(3) Deal with some useful expressions or difficult sentences.7. Homework(1) Search the internet or go to the library to find out “Plants” and be ready to introduce it to the class in next period.(2) Finish related exercise in Book B.Period 3Listening A & Listening B(听力课)一、定位:input-based,听力理解为主。二、教学目标:1. 教会学生通过分析听力材料内容,给图片排序。2. 通过听介绍植物的文段,帮助学生理解并获取必要的具体信息,培养学生提取关键信息点的能力。三、教学环节设计:Listening A1. LeadinginTeach Ss some skills to understand the sequence of events(1) Ask students to form a group of four and talk about the six pictures:(2) After the above talking, ask students predict the contents.(3) Tell the students they will listen to a conversation about the account of the life of a “strangler flg” tree2. Listen for the answer(1) Play the recording for the Ss to listen and finish A.(2) Play the recording again for the Ss to retell the pictures in A (3) Check the answers.3. Sum upWhen you listen for the sequence of events, you should do the following.a. Look at the pictures quickly and get an idea about how the pictures change.b. Pay attention to verbs of action to grasp what is going on at this moment.c. Find the picture to match the description.Listening B1. Leading-in (1) Listen to a talk about gardening and complete notes.Ask the students to share anything that they know about the three kinds of plants.(2) Tell the students that they will listen to a passage about three kinds of plants and then try to get the missing information in the table.2. Listen for the answer(1) Get the Ss to read through the table first to predict what they should listen for.(2) Play the recording for the Ss to finish Exercise B. (3) Play it again for the Ss to listen once again.(4) Check the answers in class.(5) Deal with some useful expressions or difficult sentences.7Homework(1) Retell something about the three kinds of plants.(2) 完成练习册内相关练习。Period 4Language(语法课)一、定位:output-based, 说练为主。二、教学目标:1. 在课文中,让学生划出定语从句掌握如何使用定语从句2. 让学生在实际情景中操练定语从句三、教学环节设计:1. Lead-in(1) Teach some terms about relative clauses.(2) Give an example. 2. Presentation of relative clausesA Relative clauses with that or which as subjects.(1)Draw students attention to the differences between the sentences.(2) Tell students make conversations with the words to make relative clauses .(3) Basic structure:Main sentence + that/ which+ a clause (4) PracticeHave students finish Part A1 on page 103.A 2 Write sentences including relative clauses with the words in A1. HomeworkDo exercises in Book B.Period 5Speaking (口语课)一、定位:output-based, 说为主。二、教学目标:1. 帮助学生准确读出句子重音及掌握判断句子升降调的规律,使听者理解我们。2. 在紧扣本单元话题和定语从句语言点的一系列讨论中,培养学生用英语交际的口语表达能力。3. 通过Speak up的讨论,培养学生合作学习、自主学习的能力。三、教学环节设计:1. Teaching rulesWhen we talk to people, we must help our listeners understand us easily. We should:1). Speak loudly enough to be heard2). Pronounce words correctly3). Stress words or syllables that we think are important4). Let our voices rise or fall at the end of sentences, clauses or phrases, which are often shown by punctuation marks5). Pause at the end of sentences, clauses or phrases 2. Speaking A-Talk time(1) Present a short paragraph in A1 on p105. Ask Ss to discuss in groups of four to mark the stressed words and syllables and give extra stress to those double-underlined(2) Ask Ss to read after the tape to check the answers and lead them to summarize the rules on how to stress important words in a sentence.(3) Do A2 : Read the sentences , underline and double-underline the words and syllables to stress. Also mark the places where you would let your voice fall and pause (p). (4) Then practise reading the sentences in A2.3. Speak upDecide on Ss dream garden, Think about what it would look like, what they would put in the garden, and what they would do there.(1) Divide Ss into groups of four and discuss to do B1 on p106. (2)Use the expressions to help Ss and invite some Ss to report their results according to the pattern in B24. Project assignment Write an article about their dream garden.Ask students to write an article about their dream garden following the pattern in B .5. HomeworkDo Book B.Period 6Writing(写作课)一、定位:output-based,以写和说为主。二、教学目标:1. 指导学生按照所给的短语,概括文章的脉络。2. 通过文章的写作汇报展示,培养学生综合运用语言知识的能力。3. 引导学生小结归纳本单元所学重点知识。三、教学环节设计:1. pre-writing (1) Lead the Ss to know how to organize an account. (2) Use the expressions to lead the Ss to think what an account should include.2. while-writing(1) Look at an account and fill in the blanks with the expressions.(2) Try to write the answers down.(3) Try to organize the passage.(4) Check the passage yourself.(5) Part B-Write an account of a recent tree-planting day at your school. Work in groups and use your imagination and the picture below to complete the account .(6) Show some examples.3. SummaryLead the Ss to learn how to organize the passage.4. Homework Do exercises in Book B.Period 7More practice A&B (综合技能课)一、定位:output-based,听说为主二、教学目标:1. 通过听力、阅读与口语训练,增补与本单元主题相关的材料,帮助学生了解更多与该话题相关的信息,拓展学生的知识面与文化视野。2. 培养学生热爱大自然的情感态度和创新精神。三、教学环节设计:1. Leading-in (1) Show some pictures of a famous place and ask: Can you guess where it is?(2) Talk about Babylon and the Hanging Garden of Babylon.2. Listening (Part A)(1) Play the tape for the first time. Ss listen and try to finish Part A1. Listen to the story and decide whether the statements are T (True) or F (False).(2) Play the tape for the second time and give short answers to the questions in A2, then check the answers in class.
