Learn new words and phrasesMake friends, foreign, relay race, take part in, join in, maybe, perhaps, be ready for, lots of, have fun, etc.2. Talk about school sports meet and encourage the students to take part in the school sports meet this term.3. Learn the future tense with will.4. Learn some useful sentences: (1) I will take part in the school sports meet. (2) Which sport will you take part in? (3) Ill be in the long jump and the high jump.5. Enhancing the students consciousness of health. Teaching aids Small blackboard、photos、the high jump equipment and other objects. Five-finger Teaching Plan Step 1 Review (Time:35 mins)Play a game to review the words.The teacher writes down a sentence on the blackboard“I spy with my little eyes something begins withT”.Then the teacher explains it in Chinese and tells them how to play the game. The teacher reads the sentence and asks the whole class to guess what it is in the teachers mind. A student guesses the word the same as the word in the teachers mind, at the same time, the object can be seen, then the group which the student belongs to will get one mark. The teacher asks the students turn to page17 on students books and says “I spy with my little eyes something begins withG”.Then lead to 1a.Step 2 Presentation (Time:1216 mins)1. Listen to 1a, and answer the following questions(1)Which sport will Yu Ting take part in?(2)Who will come to cheer Yu Ting on?2. Listen to 1a again, pay attention to the pronunciation. The teacher asks the students to find out news words and difficult words. Then the teacher guides the students how to pronounce them.Words: foreign, relay race, and so on.3. Read after the tape, and then figure out the important phrases and sentences. Phrases: Take part in, join in, etc.Sentences: (the future tense: the usage of “will”)(1) I will take part in the school sports meet.(2) Which sport will you take part in?(3) Ill be in the long jump and the high jump.4.
