Unit 8 Is there a post office near here?Section A (1a2c)一、 教学目标1.语言知识词汇:A、重点掌握表示建筑物种类的名词,如:post office, police station, hotel, bank, restaurant, street, pay phoneB、掌握以下方位介词,如:next to, across from, in front of, near, between, behind重点句型:-Is there a bank near here? -Yes, there is a bank on Center Street. - Wheres the hospital? - It next to the police station. Its across from the bank. 2语言技能1)能看着图片说出建筑物的名称;2)能运用一般现在时询问街道上某一场所的位置;3)能够描述某一场所各建筑物之间的位置关系。 3.情感态度通过各小组的对话练习培养学生的合作精神。4.学习策略1)利用老师所提供的图片做出简单的判断,学习相关方位介词2)通过与同学交流,对地点特征进行简单的描述。 二、教学重点和难点1)重点:There be 句型的一般疑问句及其回答方式。方位介词的用法。)难点:方位介词的用法。三、教学过程Step 1: Lead-in1. Greeting.2. Learning aims.3. Watch a video.Answer the question: How many places are there? Five. (A post office, a supermarket, a restaurant, a bookshop and a cinema.)Step 2: Presentation and practice1. Learn the new words by pictures.(post office, restaurant, bank, police station, street, hotel, hospital, pay phone, park)2. Game: What is missing? Students read the 9 words together. Then there is one or two words missing. Students have to tell what the missing word is.3. 1a. Match the words with the places in the picture.4. 1b. Listen and circle the places you hear.5. Task1. Ask the students to take out the paper which the tape scripts had been given.Listen to the tape again and fill in the blanks. 6.1c. Practice 1c in pairs. Ask and answer questions about the places in 1a.7. Play the video to learn some prepositions words.(on, next to, betweenand, in front of, behind, across from)8. Match the position words and the Chinese meaning.9. Challenge (I) Invite three students to the blackboard.Each student is given a paper board and each student represents a place(post office,pay phone,library).The whole class read the six sentences which is presented on the screen together.The three students need to listen carefully and the stand at the right position quickly.10.Tell students that Challenge (I) is what exactly 2a is and ask them to finish 2a .11. Practice. Show a picture of the buildings around.Tell Ss to raise and answer questions. 12. 2b. Listen and fill in the blanks.13. Challenge (II) All the students look at the screen and answer the questions.14.2c pair-work. Show a picture of Guzhai and invite one student to show the way.Step three: Summary and exercises.1.
