I also design as many methods as possible, such as pairwork, performance, groupwork, games and so on.Teaching AidsPPT objects textbookTeaching Steps:Step1 Leading-in Play a short video for students to relax and feel the Present Progressive Tense. Introduce myself. Talk freely to class, leading in be doing.Step2 Presention1. Show pictures on the screen and teach the following new words and phrases: cleaning, newspaper, reading a newspaper, soup, making soup, use, using the computer, wash, washing the dishes, exercising, talking on the phone, listening to a CD, watching TV. At the same time, practice the sentences of be doing with students. 2. Practice: Read the phrases rhythmically to help students master the phrases.Step3 Warming-up1a Tell the students: I live in the Happy Apartment. My neighbors are doing different activities. What are they doing? Look at the picture on Page31 and finish the task in 1a.Share some students answers.Step4 PracticeShow pictures of some stars and programs that students are interested in to practice the new sentences. Step5 Listening1b Tell the students: Jenny, John, Dave and Mary are my friends. What are they doing? Listen to the recording and finish the task in 1b. Check answers. Play it again, students listen and repeat. Step6 PairworkShow some pictures on the screen. The students work in pairs, making conversations about what people are doing.Step7 Games1. A listening game: Who has the best listening? Play different kinds of sounds, the students listen and guess what people are doing.2 A show game: Who has the best eyesight? Ask some students to perform different actions and others guess what they are doing.Step8 Groupwork and writingShow a picture on the screen. Students work in groups. First they discuss what people are doing. Then ask them to write a short composition according to the picture. Share some compositions.
