七年级下册 Unit6 Im Watching TV团结中学 周亮霞一:Teaching aims and demands1. The knowledge aims: Students can learn the new words and expressions: washing the dishes,talking on the phone,using the computer,making soup; Students can know how to add V-ing. Students can use the sentence structure to ask and answer what people are doing. “what is he/she doing? She/He is+V-ing” “What are they/you doing? They/We are+V-ing”2. The ability aims: Students can listen the conversation about what people are doing; Students can ask and answer what people are doing; Students can read the sentences about what people are doing; Students can write down the important words, phrases and V-ing.3. The emotional aims: Arouse students interest in learning English; Enable the students to communicate with others; Through various activities in class,students can learn to cooperate and know they can also do a lot of things to help their parents.4. Teaching key points and difficult points Key points:Words and phrases: Washing the dishes,talking on the phone,using the computer,making soup;The rules of adding V-ingSentence structure: “What is he/she doing? She/He is+V-ing” “What are they/you doing? They/We are+V-ing” Difficult points:How to guide students use the present progressive tense in different cases.二 Teaching methods and learning methods1.Analysis of students.Grade 7 students has just learnt English for one term, they are fond of different kinds of activities,but sometimes they are shy and dare to express their ideas,so teacher should encourage them and try his/her best to set all kinds of games,songs ,pictures to arouse students interest.2.Teaching methodsAccording to the new national curriculum standard,the schema theory and student centered teaching idea, I adopt the following teaching methods:communicative teaching method,cooperative teaching method.task-based teaching method. 3.Learning methods:To master the phrases by guessing,reading and playing games.To master the sentence structure by using,practicing and doing exercises.4. Teaching aids:A computer and a projector as my teaching aids to facilitate my teaching.三 Teaching proceduresStep1.Review and Lead-inTask1. As we can see,once the students interest is aroused in the beginning,the whole class will go through more smoothly. Today is Friday,so Ill ask them “Are you happy?” and then I will tell them I am happy,too. Cause today is Friday,a happy weekend is waiting for us.Task2. Show students the title of the unit and the present progressive tense we are going to learn. “Im watching TV”.From the title,we can see what is present progressive tense,that is add ing after a verb and “be” before the verb. In order to review some words and expressions we have learnt before. I will play a game with students. That is I act and students say it in English about what I am doing. Then I will put these words on the blackboard for students to use in laters activities.Iamdrinking waterHe/She/It/Tomisdrawing a pictureThey/We/My parentsarewrittingTask3. Now I show a picture of our TuanJie Middle School which is being built.Then ask students whether they want to go into our future school and look what the students and teachers doing.But if they want to go,they need to learn a magic song “Are you sleeping” to open the door of our future school. Task 4.Students learn and sing the English song “Are you sleeping”.Then I ask them “Are you sleeping?” “So,What are you doing?”Step2.PresentationTask1. Words and expressionsNow,students can sing the song,then they can come into our Tuan Jie Middle School and have a look at what people are doing.In order to help students learn the new expressions.Ill show some pictures on the screen.Picture 1.Two people are watching TV.Picture 2.Mr.Kuang is reading a newspaper. Picture 3.Mr.Wu is using the computer.Picture4.Two girls are making soup. First students say these phrases in English,then I will ask them “what is he/she doing? What are they doing?” They answer it with the sentence structure: “She/He is+V-ing;They/We are+V-ing”.Then read these phrases together.Task 2. Match the activities with the picturesGive students 1 minute to finish 1a. And then check the answers one by one.Task 3.Words game.Give students 1 minute to memorize these nine phrases.Then we will play a game,that is “quick eyes”. I will show the picture on the screen,and when students see the first picture,if they know how to say it in English,then stand up and speak it loudly, the students who stand the most times will be the winner. Then we can see who is the King of Memory.Task 4.Listening.First,tell students that Jenny,John,Dave and Mary are all my friends.Today I want to ask them out,but I dont know whether they are free or not.So after finish listening,you need to tell me what are they doing. I will check the answers by asking some of them.Then,students say the sentences:1.Jenny is watching TV. 2.John is washing the dishes. 3.Dave and Mary are listening to a CD.Task 5. Game timeIn order to help students use the target language. 4 students as a group. One or two students act,and another students use the sentence structure to ask and answer questions.“What is he/she doing?” & “What are they/you doing ”“She/He is+V-ing;They/We are+V-ing”. The group which can use the target language correctly and have natural performance will get students big hand. The activity aims to train students cooperative learing and activate the class atmosphere.Task 6.Rules of adding V-ingIll put the following words on the screen,then 4 students as a group.Each group has 2minutes to summarize the rules of adding V-ing.Then choose one student to give a report and check it.watch-watching do-doingclean-cleaning listen-listeninghave-having use-usingdance-dancing make-makingrun-running swim-swimming Task 7.Summary Let students answer three questions: What is the Present Progressive Tense? What is the structure of the Present Progressive Tense? What is the mark words of the Present Progressive Tense?Step 3. PracticeTask1. Give students the first paper with the following words on it. They need to finish it in 2 minutes,and later I will choose one paper and ask one student to check it.写出下列动词的现在分词形式go _play _ sing _ eat _take _come _ dance _ write _run _ sit _ swim _shop _Task 2. Give students the second paper to practice the Present Progressive Tense. But students just need to circle the mark words.
