Unit 3 My school CalendarPart B Read and write乔田万家小学 朱学瑶.The teaching materials:The teaching material is from PEP English of Grade 5. It talks about my school calendar .This unit mainly focuses on the Easter. And this is a reading and writing lesson. The target of this lesson is to improve students reading and writing skills. Besides, the teacher needs to help them know the Easter and the activities in it.The students background:The students are from Grade5 of the primary school. They have learnt the twelve months and several festivals in them at the beginning of this unit. Today we will focuses on the Easter. As pupils, they learn with interests, so I will try my best to make my class more attractive. The teaching objectives:1. Knowledge objectives:To review all the twelve months.Master the verb phrases: roll Easter eggs, look for eggs, eat chocolate eggs, meet the Easter Bunny.Enable students to use “We will .”To help students to know about Easter.2. Ability objectives:Be able to talk about the activities in an Easter party.Be able to read and understand the invitation.3. Morality objectives:To Cherish the happy time with friends.The important and difficult points:1. The verb phrases about Easter activities:rollEaster eggslook for eggseat chocolate eggsmeet the Easter Bunny2. The sentence structure: We will . Teaching aids: PPT, Tape recording, Easter eggs. Teaching methods: Audio- lingual teaching method, Task-based teaching method, Five-steps teaching method. Teaching procedure:Step1. Warm up1. Enjoy the song: The twelve months2. T: We have twelve months in one year. Which month do you like best?Ss: I like best.T: I like April best. Because Easter is in April. Well, whats Easter?The teacher introduces the Easter to the students with the PPT.(Purpose of design: The song can help me to review the twelve months, and use the PPT can make students knows the Easter better. )Step2. PresentationPart1.Lead inT: I have received an invitation .Look , its about the Easter party. Listen to the invitation and get the time and place of the party.The teacher plays the tape and students give the answers.(Purpose of design: a task-based listening can be more efficient.)Part2. New phrases learningT: What will people do on the Easter? Lets look at the picture.The teacher uses the PPT and gestures to present all the new words and phrases.1. roll Easter eggsT: look at the girls. What are they doing? Oh, they are rolling Easter eggs.Use the PPT to present “roll” and “Easter eggs”, lead students to read them and explain them with gestures.T: We will roll Easter eggs.(Lead students to read the sentence for several times.)2. look for eggsThe teacher pretends to have lost the Easter egg ,then look for it everywhere. Present “look for” on the PPT. T: We will look for eggs.(Lead students to read the sentence for several times.)3. eat chocolate eggsUse the PPT to present “eat” and “chocolate eggs”, lead students to read them and explain them with gestures.T: We will eat chocolate eggs.(Lead students to read the sentence for several times.)4. meet the Easter BunnyThe teacher jumps as a bunny, and present “bunny” on the PPT.T: We will meet the Easter Bunny.(Lead students to read the sentence for several times.)Conclusion:roll Easter eggs.We willlook for eggs.eat chocolate eggs.meet the Easter Bunny.(Purpose of design: Use the PPT and the gesture makes the new words vivid.)Part3.Try to replyT: Do you want to go to the Easter party?Ss: Yes.T: So, lets reply.The teacher present the RSVPon the screen, explain the difficult part of it .(Purpose of design: RSVP is very important to an invitation , students need to know that.)Part 4. Read and tick or cross.The teacher plays the tape recording,let students read the invitation and judge whether the four sentences are right or wrong.1.( )The Easter party is on March 23rd.2.( )The party will start at 7 p.m.3.( )Youll play ping-pong at the party.4.( )Youll eat a birthday cake at the party.(Purpose of design: A task-based reading can be efficient.)Part 4.
