I will go to college in a big city.S2:I dont think I will,either.S3:T:What about in ten years?What job will you have?Will you have children?S4:I think I will become an engineer.That is my dream.Maybe I will have a child.S5:I will study abroad. I wont be married, I think.S6:Step 3.1aT:I hope your predictions will come true.Today we atre going to talk about more than five or ten years in the future.Were going to talk about 100 years in the future.Now look at the sentences in Part 1a.There are six predictions about the world in the future. “A”means agree and “D” means disagree.Circle “A” if you think the prediction will be true.And circle “D” if you think the prediction will not be true.Do you understand?Ss:Yes.T:In this part,there are two new words robot and paper.Look at the picture.This is a robot.It is a machine.It can do work instead of a person.It helps us with all kinds of jobs.(Show a piece of paper.)This is paper.We use it to write on.Now read the two words after me.T:OK.Check the sentences in pairs.Lets see which pair is the winner.(Teacher asks students to give their opinions and gives them suggested answers.)Suggested answers:A 1,4 D 2,3,5,6T:OK.Now look at the picture in your books.Read the boys predictions.(Teacher asks students to read them after teacher,and then read individually or in groups.Let students try to remember the sentences.)Step 4.1bT:Now well listen to the tape.The people are making predictions about the future.Listen and circle the predictions that you hear in 1a.(Teacher plays the tape for the first time.This time students only listen.Play the tape a second time.This time ask students to circle the predictions people talk about on the tape.And then check the answers.)Answers:Students circle 1,2,4,5.Step 5.1c PairworkThis activity provides guided oral practice using the target language.In this activity first ask two students to read the example in the sample dialogue.S1:Will people use money in 100 years?S2:No,they wont.Everything will be free.Will people live to be 200 years old?S1:Yes,they will.Then help students make one or two other predictions using statements like those in the sample dialogue.For example:Books will only be on computers.Help students form the question:Will there be books in 100 years?Then help them give the answers:Yes,there will.or No,there wont.More questions and answers.Will there only be one country?Yes,there will.No,there wont.Will people have robots in their homes?Yes,they will.No,there wont.Will kids go to school?No,they wont.Theyll study at home on computers.Ask students to work in pairs.Ask and answer questions about the predictions in 1a.As students are working,move around the classroom and give language support as needed.And then ask several pairs to show their conversations to the class.Give them little presents if they perform well.Step 6.Story TimeAsk students to read the story and pay attention to temporal adverbial.Step 7.SummaryT:Today weve learnt some key words and structures.Weve learnt to make predictions.As young people,you can predict what your life will be like in the future.Now study hard for your future.Step 8.HomeworkT:After calss every student draws a picture showing what life will be like in 100 years.For example,you might draw a family standing on the surface of the moon.Or you might show a robot moving the lawn outside a house.Next class Ill ask everyont to show your pi
