Unit 3 Could you please clean your room?Teaching Aims:a Knowledge aims: 1) Master the key words and phrases:do the dishes, make the bed, take out the rubbish, fold the clothes, sweep the floor, clean the living room. 2) Master the key structures: Could you please take out the rubbish? I have to finish homework first.b Ability aims 1) To improve students ability of listening and speaking. 2) To cultivate their ability of cooperating with others.c.Emotional aims1) Make students help their parents with the chores.2) Stimulate their interest in learning English.Important points and difficult points1) Master the key words and key structures.2) How to use the key words and key structures in the real situation.Teaching methods:Taskbased teaching method, Audio-visual teaching method, communicative teaching method, student-centered teaching method.Teaching Aids: PPT, An English book, Survey papers, Some pictures, A T-shirt, candies.Teaching procedures.Step 1:Warming upI will lead in my class by watching a video about parents doing chores.Then I will introduce the question: Do you love your parents? Are they busy? Are they hardworking? Are they tired? Do you want to help your parents with the chores?Teach the words chores. Then tell them do chores means do housework.Step 2: presentation1. New words learning Show some pictures to present different chores to teach them new words. Ask them to repeat. Then, ask them to read it by themselves. Find a student to be the English teacher, teach all of the students to read after him or her.2. Guessing gameGive a picture and cover half of it with another picture. Let the students guess what is she or he doing.Step 3 ListeningT: Today, well have a good friend. His name is Peter, Peter is a good boy, He always helps his mother do the chores.Then,Students listen to the tape of activity 1b: What kind of chores do Mom and Peter do? Check () Mom or Peter. I will tell them you neednt understand every sentence and you just need to pay attention to the chores. Ill play the tape twice. First time, The students write down the answers. Then Ill check the answers with the students. Second time, pay attention to the pronunciation.Step 4 Do a survey I will get students to ask the questions like this : Do you do the dishes at home?How often do you do the dishes at home?Interview which group is the most hardworking?I will divide them into groups of four and let students to write down their survey result and report it to the class like:Hello, Im . I always do the dishes.Clap for the most hardworking students in their groups.Step 5 GrammarThen,give them two dialogues and key phrases on the screen: Could you please sweep the floor? Yes,sure. Could you please wash the dishes?Sorry,I cant. Im busy.Lead them to know how to answer the request. Make some short conversation with the students: T: Could you please borrow the book to me?S: Yes.T: Thank you.T: Could you please.S: .Step 6: Practice-Group workPlay a short video about me and my husband are talking about chores.Show our conversations on the screen,ask one students to read it. Then ask them work in groups to make their own conversations. Discuss it with their deskmate. Give them 5 minute to finish it.Role play their conversations in front of the class.Step 7: SummaryI will make a brief summary with all the students about what we learned in this period and they should remember that we should learn to care about others and be polite.Step 8: Homework1: Help
