Teaching Procedures Step 1 Greeting and Free talk. Greet the students as usual. T: Do you like reading? S: Yes, I do. T: What kind of books do you like? S: I like. T: How many books have you read? S:I have read. T: Today lets talk about some books. Step 2 1a Look at the pictures in 1a. Ask students: T: Do you know these pictures? S: Yes. T: Where are they from? S: They are from six books. Ask students to say the name of the six books. And teach them. T: Have you heard of these books, Now look at 1a, check the ones you know. Step3. Pre-task Learn the target language: Have you read Little Women yet? Yes, I have already read it./ No, I havent. Show students the six pictures and get students to practice small dialogues using “ have you?” Step 4.1b listeningLet students look at the chart. Play the recording. The first time students only listen. Then play it again, let the students complete the chart. Check the answers with the whole class.Step5 1c PracticeT: After listening, weve got some information from the conversation. Look at the conversation in the box.Ask two students to read the conversation in 1c for the class.Then practice the conversation using the information in 1a In pairs.Ask several pairs to act out.Step6 2a listeningLook at the books and the names. Listening to the recording. Who has read the books, circle the names.The first time, students only listen. Play it again, this time please circle the names. Check the answers with the whole class.Step7 2b listeningHave students listen to the recording again, and write T for true and F for false. Then check the answers with the students.Step8 2c PracticeT:After listening, weve got some information from 2a and 2b. Lets use the information in 2a and 2b to talk about the books.Ask tow students to read the information, then practice the conversation in 2a and 2b. Get several pairs of students to act out their conversations to the class.Step9 2d PracticeLook at the example in the box. Invite a pair of students to read it to the class. In groups, ask students to discuss the language points and solve the problems. Role-play the conversation.While students are working in pairs, walk around the classroom and listen to some pairs. If necessary, offer language support. Get several pairs of students to act out to the class.Step 10 SummaryT: In this class, weve learned some important words and phrases.
