Status and Function.This topic is related to our daily life, so its helpful to raise learning interests of students and it can improve their spoken English. 2. Teaching Aims and DemandsKnowledge objects: Make students talk about volunteer activities and learn to use could, would like to and new phrases. Ability objects: The students can express the ways they could help people and share their ideas. Then listen and write3. Teaching key points and difficulties.Help students say more ways to help others and master the use of would like to and could. According to listening, master some phrase: clean up, cheer up, helpwithPart 2 Analysis of studentsMost of the students are poor at English. They seldom speak English each other. Some students arent active in class. They dont open their mouths because they are afraid of making mistakes. So its important to encourage them.Part 3 Teaching methodsAccording to New Course Standard of English, combining with the language lever of students, I take 4 task teachings: listening, speaking ,reading and writing. In the process, I will apply pictures and tape recorders to draw attention.Part 4 Learning methodsTeach students how to learn new words and develop speaking skills. From the pictures, get the students to speak out the activities directly and form good learning habits.In the process of learning, lots of linguistic activities are to be applied, because the language activity practice is the only approach for students to master either the basic knowledge of English or the language competence. Help students learn to study independently, and learn to cooperate with others. In class, encourage them to communicate with others and build up their confidence.Part 5 Teaching proceduresIll finish this lesson in six steps. Step I Warm-up1. Free talk between the teacher and studentsFor example,Teacher:In the world there are so many beautiful places. What places are they?Student A: Eiffel Tower.Student B: Great Wall.T: Of course, in China, there are many beautiful places, too. And we know the Great Wall is fantastic. Thousands of people visit there. However, some tourists throw it everywhere. At this time, show the first picture about rubbish everywhere. Make them see it directly and touch them.2. Show another pictureFrom this picture, lead to a key word volunteerT: The same problem happened on the Great Wall. There is a famous person, Willian Lindasay from British on the Great Wall. Lead to volunteer, “Would you like to be a volunteer?” Purpose: It is important to form a better English learning surrounding for the Ss by the pictures around usStep II PresentationShow some pictures.T: What can you see in the picture?S: Some students and a teacher.T: Great. We can see they are outside. They have no school. So we know theyre poor. What could you do?Like this, give out some other pictures.Purpose: To present the key structures one by one is much easier for the Ss to learnStep III PairworkA: Would you like to help them?B: Yes, Id like to help them. What could I do?A: You could give some food and some old books to them. Purpose: Task-based teaching method is used here to develop Ss ability of communication and also their ability of co-operation will be well trained.Step IV ListeningFirst give a question, “Who would they like to help?Then finish 1b.Ask two students to write the answer on the blackboard.Then check it and follow the tape.Purpose: listening is very important. After speaking, listening is the check for the students. Step V GroupworkIf tomorrow is a clean-up Day, what would you like to do?Discuss it in a groupe.g. S1: Tomorrow is the Clean-up Day. Its a special day. We must do something. Id like to clean up the windows. Ill make them clean. What could I do?S2: You could use a piece of wet cloth to clean the windows first.S3: You could use the dry newspapers and brush the windows hard. Like this, it will be cleaner.S4: Good idea! I can help you. (turn to S1)Purpose: Make students learn about more knowledge and speak out something they want to do.
