I am thirteen.Teaching aids:Computer, ppt, calendarTeaching steps:Step 1 Warning-up and revision 1. Daily greeting to the students.2. Revision: Revise the cardinal numbers and some nouns by translating the following phrases.Step 2 Presentation 1. Present the new words: month, January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December 2. Ask and answer with the Ss:T: Whats this in English? (show a picture of a Calendar) Ss: Its a calendar. T: How many months are there in a year?Ss: There are 12 months in a year.3. Get the Ss to guess what month and year mean.4. Then, teach the Ss the names of 12 months.Step 3 Working on 1a, 1b and 1c1. Listen and repeat.2. Ask some individual Ss to read the new words again. Correct their pronunciations when necessary.3. Working on 1b.1) Students listen and number conversations. Check their answers quickly.2) Listen and repeat.3) Practice the conversations in pairs.4) Practice reading some dates.4. Pair work of 1c: Ss practice the conversation of 1b and make their own conversations in pairs.5. A song: Teach the Ss to sing the song of months. Step 4 Ordinal Numbers1. Present the ordinal numbers from firs t to twelfth.T: When is January? (Help the Ss to answer.)Ss: Its the first month of the year.2. Repeat the questions and answers for the other months and present the ordinal numbers from second to twelfth.3. Present some other ordinal numbers.4. Read the Students Book P81.5. Work on 2a.
