Grammar: the past progressive tense.重点难点1To improve the interest and skills of listening.2To grasp the past progressive tense.教学准备Multimedia, blackboard教学方法.利用多媒体,通过录像、图片制造情境,让学生感受。.启发、讨论、穿插于教学。教学过程:step 1 leadin play a English song Yesterday Once More引起学生对过去进行时感知兴趣。Step2 Warming upWhats the weather like today?Its sunnyAslo we can say How is the weather?Its sunnyLet students look at a picture of a boy walking in the rainstorm helplessly.Can you guess whats the feeling of the boy? Have you ever had the same experience? What were you doing when the rainstorm came?Step3 learn the new wordsLook at the picture of the words .And read after me the words ,then practice the new words.Next we move to 1a Where were the people at the time of the rainstorm? Match the statements with the people in the picture.1. _ I was in the library.2. _ I was in my house.3._ I was on the street.4._ I was at the bus stop.Step4 Listening Lets listen and payattention to “was/were +doing”Listen to the TV report and circle the correct responses in 1a.Check the students answers.Listen and repeat.Step5 PresentationLook at the sentence in the picture:What were people doing yesterday at time of the rainstorm? Read it aloud over and over,try to recite it. Then think over what the difference is betwwwn”What were you doing?”and “What are you doing?”Have students try to say out their ideas.Then point out that they both mean”doing”,but “were”represents in a past time,while”are” represent now.Step 6 PracticeTalk about what the people were doing at the time of the rainstorm.For example:A: What was the girl doing at the time of the rainstorm ?B: She was.Step7 Pair work1c Talk about what the people in 1a were doing at the time ofthe rainstor
