Unit 10 Hometown Feelings 教学设计 .Teaching objectives: 1. Procedures and methods: to help students learn how to use the reading strategies in the reading comprehension, such as prediction, skimming, scanning, and guessing the meaning of the words from the context 3. Emotional attitudes and moral values: to let students express their hometown feelings and arouse the students love to their hometowns. .Teaching key points and difficult points: Key points: 1. to let the students learn how to use the reading strategies in reading comprehension. 2. to learn the grammar words and structures to talk about this topic. Difficult points: 1. to let the students learn how to use the reading strategies in different reading comprehension. 2. to learn the grammar words and structures to talk about similar topics. .Teaching methods Task-based teaching method assisted with activity approach and audio-visual method .Teaching aids: the CAI .Teaching procedures Step 1 Pre-reading 1. Warm-up: Learn the new words and expressions and play a video 2. Lead in: T: Do you know where my hometown is? Show some pictures of my hometown. T: Changshou is my hometown. I missed my hometown very much. You see, my hometown has changed a lot. It is beautiful, Now Im so happy. I think your hometowns have changed a lot, too. Do you like it? But not everyone is lucky like me, they miss their hometown very much, but they dont have money or time to return. Now, there is a man, Zhong Wei. He has great feelings to his hometown. Do you want to know more about it ? T: Ask the students to talk about their hometown. Purpose: the main purpose is to stimulate the students learning interest and lead in the topic: changes, hometown feelings. Step 2 While-reading TASK1 Fast reading 1. Brainstorm Q: Why do millions of Chinese leave the countryside every year? How often do you think these people visit their hometowns? What new buildings does the government usually build in towns and villages? 2. Prediction (strategies: according to the title and pictures) Q: From these questions, can you guess what will be talked about in the passage? A. The reason why people leave their hometown. B. The great changes in the hometown. C. The problems in the hometown. D. The good memories in hometowns. E. The nice food in hometowns. F. The new buildings in hometowns. Purpose: In this part, Ill let the students skim the passage to grasp the main idea of this passage and learn to use the reading strategy-prediction. 3. Fast reading. Read and answer the questions. 1). Who is Zhong Wei? 2). Does Zhong live in his hometown or in the city? 3). According to the passage, do you think Zhong loves his hometown? TASK2 Careful reading 1.
