Nice to meet you. I am glad to have a class with you.2) T: Do you think your teacher is strict with you? Do you have any school rules? (The students can talk about it freely.)3)Then the teacher asks another question: Do you have any rules at home? The students discuss the question in pairs, and then ask some of them to say something about his or her family rules.Step2 (part 2a)1) T:Are you happy with the rules at school and at home?Ss:No.T:Why?(Maybe the rules are strict. Listen and Read the letters quickly .Then discuss in pairs and answer the following questions:1. Is Molly Brown happy? Why or why not?No, she isnt. Because she has many rules in her family.2. When does she have to get up every morning?She has to get up at six oclock.3. Can she play basketball after school? Why?No, she cant. Because she must do her homework. 4. Can she watch TV after dinner?No, she cant. She must read a book before she can watch TV.5. When does she have to go to bed?She has to go to bed before ten oclock.6. Can she leave the dirty dishes in the kitchen?No, she cant.7. Why does she have to run to school? Because she cant be late for school.8. Does she have any fun?No, she doesnt.9. What does Dr, Know think of the rules?He thinks it is helpful. And he thinks we have to follow them.Step4.Part 2b Read the letters, Underline the rules for Molly. Check the answers with the PowerPoint. Then read the sentences aloud.Step5.Part2c Read the letters again and complete the sentences with have to/ must, can or cant. Then check the answers.Step6.Group workIf youre Dr Know, what suggestions (建议, 意见) would you like to give to Molly Brown?Please discuss in groups of four, and then tell the class your suggestions.
