What do you think of the topic? Many people travel everywhere during the holiday. Today I will take you to a beautiful country Australia.1.Background knowledge of Australia(Activity1 on P22)Look at these pictures and answer the questions about Australia.Suggested answers:A1. about 20 million A2. CanberraA3. on the east /southeast coast A4. desertA5. koala bear, possum, duck-billed platypus, kangaroo, echidna and dingo. Some of these animals are marsupials, that is, the mother keeps the baby in a pouch on her stomach. 2. VocabularyBefore we read the text, lets look at the words in Activity 2 on page 22. Match some of the words in the box with the 6 definitions. If you are not sure, you can turn to your dictionary for help. (Check the answers after the Ss finish it.)Step 3 Reading1. Fast reading(Individual Work)Read the passage quickly, and ask Ss what the passage is about. Suggested answers: It is about traveling to the central part of Australia.2.
