精品文档 1欢迎下载 一 Besides its magical landscapes what impressed me most in the documentary is the traditional life style which is often in close partnership with nature I was brought up by my grandparents who are typical farmers in the countryside In our rural life everything had its use For example the dried wheat and rice straw would be used as cooking fuel or fodder Farmers always could make good use of resources from nature and biological In my memory every spring there was a swallow s nest which was made of mud under the roof of every house and what is remarkable every family were looking forward to their arrivals My grandmother told me that it was never easy to predict the appropriate time in that day so the wallows are good helpers They believed the bird s arrival predicts the timing of a season ahead and and the right time for planting rice is coming The wisdom people can observe the nature make use of the nature and protect the nature 二 Given the right help even the rarest creatures can return from the brink If we show the will nature will find the way It is the last two sentences from the documentary 精品文档 2欢迎下载 which makes me lost in thought China is a vast country which is home to an amazing variety of landscapes plants and animals However many of unique animals face pressure from exploitation and competition with people over space and resources and some species are even endangered Nowadays we are given the tough choice between economic growth and environment protection Fortunately China has made some efforts to protect these animals by setting up nature reserves And our appreciation for harmony and sustainability runs a lot deeper than before We should remain the traditional life style which is often in close partnership with nature just like the documentary shows us 三 As someone who have been in China for a few years I m awed by this film This is what BBC does best It points out the huge problems for wildlife from human pressure for land taking the habitat for animals and birds It also focuses on the little known and long standing efforts by China to preserve it s environment I say it s a piece of art because it s really quite beautiful the editorial work has been wonderful location selection angles slow motion all of those add on to make 精品文档 3欢迎下载 it a surreal and beautiful reflection that you may not even notice living there It s capturing the moment at the right time in the right place something often overlooked even by the natives I have to say amongst the crowd the sometimes dirty environment the construction sites and the clashing of architecture styles caused by the east west infusion in recent years increasingly you can only find the authentic beautiful signature Chinese landscapes with clever and observant eyes It awes me but at the same time worries me a little We d be quick to jump to the conclusion that the Chinese government need to do more to protect its environment or that the Chinese people need to be more aware of their environment Didn t it sound incredibly sad when the narrator said that out of 25 species of turtles in China only a few survived and that happened in merely few decades But as pointed out in the series they ARE aware They ve been aware for thousands of years having such a long history and witnessing the rise and fall of numerous dynasties their appreciation for harmony and 精品文档 4欢迎下载 sustainability runs a lot deeper than we might think it s imprinted into their culture It s sad really but they re given the tough choice of either economic growth or preservation of their environment sacrifice one and their children will starve sacrificing the other and their children s children would eventually starve It s a fine balance which they re increasingly focusing their attention on and I really do wish them the best
