Unit 3 My school calendarPart A Lets try Lets talk Teaching aims 1. Knowledge aims: (1) To be able to listen,speak and read words and phrases:April, May,school trip,sports meet and Easter party.(2) To enable to use the sentence patterns: When is .?Its in. correctly and skillfully. 2. Ability aims: (1)To develop the studentsabilities of listening, speaking , reading and writing. (2)To train the studentsabilities of working in pairs or in groups. 3. Emotion aim: To encourage the students to take an active part in school activities. Teaching key points and difficult points Teaching key point: Use the sentence patterns to talk about activities. Difficult point: How to make a dialog and act it out. Analysis of teaching methods Task-based teaching method Communication teaching method Situational teaching method. Analysis of learning method I will let the students get the knowledge actively by probe study and cooperative study. Teaching aids: In this class I will use PPT, some cards as my teaching aids. Teaching procedures In order to complete the aims, I design the following teaching steps. Step 1 Greeting & Warming up After greeting with the students,Ill get them to sing the English song “Four seasons”to review the seasons. Step 2 Presentation 1. After singing the song, I will ask some students “Which season do you like best?”,then ask “What season is it now?” “What month is it now?”to lead in the new word April, lead in May . It is also necessary to introduce the origin of Easter. 2. I will ask them when Easter is to lead in the sentence patterns: When is .? Its in. Then show two cards :Aprils activities and Mays activities to ask them to practice the sentence patterns with their partner. Pay attention to the usage of “in” At last,I will ask some pairs to show their dialogs . 3. Lets try In this activity,I will introduce our two friends Zhang Peng and Mike,there is a sports meet at their school, whose parents will go to the sports meet? The students will listen to the tape to get the main idea for the first time. Then listen again to finish the task and check the answer. 4. Lets talkBesides the sports meet,there are other fun things their school. What are they? The students will listen to the tape and answer the questions:1) What activities do they have? 2) When is the Easter party?3) When is the school trip?After checking the answers, I will explain the sentence “We have a few fun things in spring.” Then the students will read the dialog after the tape and role play it . Pay attention to pronunciation and intonation. Step 3 Consolidation The students in groups of 6 will design a poster ,they will talk about what activities they will have in April and May with the sentence patterns weve learned today . Then one student representative will show their poster and report for us! . Step 4 Summary In this step,I will ask every student to summary what we have learnt
