Teach activity 1a.Show some pictures on the screen, ask students to look at them carefully and say out what they are.Then lead students to read the four phrases in the box and tell their meanings. Have them match the words with the proper pictures and check the answers. 2. Teach activity 1b.First, lead students to read the example conversation and understand its meaning.Then put students into pairs to make conversations like this. They can use the words in activity 1a. Give students several minutes to do this activity.Finally, invite several students to act out for the whole class.Step 3 Practice ListeningT: Now, we will do some listening practice. You will hear some information about how Bob gets to his grandparents home.Before listening, you need to have a quick look at these two activities so that you can know what to do. Then Ill play the tape twice. The first time, you have to check the things Mary wants to know in 1c. The second time, choose the right trace for Bob to get to his grandparents home.Later check the answers together and explain a language point.Step 4 Consolidation Teach activity 1e.First, ask students to read the conversation in the speech bubbles together so that they can know how to do this activity.Then divide the class into pairs to talk about how Bob get to his grandparents home.Later invite several pairs to act out for the whole class.Step 5 Summary In this period, weve mainly learned some words about traffic signs and how to talk about getting to some places using two or more kinds of transportation.
