Be able to talk about a special day in China.Moral Objectives:Lead the students to respect and love mother, knowing that shes great and there is a lot of fun in cooking. Learn to give thanks. Teaching Key Points 1. Improve students comprehensive skill. 2. To describe a process and follow instructions.Teaching Difficult Point Improve students comprehensive skill.Learning Situation AnalysisThrough learning, students have learned how to describe a process. They are able to make fruit salad and sandwiches. They are also able to tell countable nouns from uncountable nouns. And they are very interested in these topics. Teaching ProceduresI Warm-up 1.Greetings. 2.Revision: Whats your favorite food? Do you know how to make it?II Presentation 1. Teach 2a.Talk about what kind of food people eat on special holidays in China. 2. Teach the new words: Thanksgiving, traditional, autumn, traveler, celebrate, mix, pepper, fill, plate, cover, serve, temperature 3.Tell the students the English reading skills: skimming and scanning. 4.Teach 2b. Show some pictures about Thanksgiving Day and turkey ,encourage students to say as much as they know about the holiday. Then ask students to read the article silently and number the pictures according to the instructions of making a turkey dinner. III Practice1. Teach 2c. First ask students to look through the five questions and read the article again to find the answers to them. Check the answers. Then ask students to pay attention to the key phrases.2. Teach 2d. Lead students to read the instruction to know what to do and how to do this activity. Then give them several minutes ti think about the new instructions and fill in the blanks with the given words and put them in order. IV Consolidation 1. Teach 2e. Lead students to have a quick look at the pictures to say what special days they are. Divide students into groups to ask and answer the questions.
