Unit 5 whose dog is itB Lets learnWabu Primary School -Chen Juan一、Analysis of the teaching material: The lesson is from PEP Primary English Grade 5 Unit 5 Part B . The part of this lesson mainly talks about present participle. By studying this unit, students will be able to know the usage of present progressive. At the same time, students ability of listening, speaking and communicating with others will be improved. Therefore, this lesson is in the important position of the teaching material.二、Analysis of the students: Students are the subject of our class. They have learned the second language for two years. But as for our rural areas, most students cannot live with their parents together. They are lack of parents love. Some of them lost interest in studying, especially in English leaning. As a teacher, I require myself to love them from the bottom of my heart. I believe that love can arouse interest. I will provide them more chance to learn and speak English.三、Teaching aims Knowledge aims:1. Students can listen, read and recognize the core words: climbing, drinking, eating, and sleeping and so on. 2. Students should be able to learn the sentences patterns: Fido is eating. Are they ? Yes, they are. /No, they arent.Capability aims:1. Students can master the pronunciation of the new words, and use the sentences correctly. 2. Through the activities, their speaking and listening ability can be improved.Emotional aims:Students can enjoy the study of this lesson, and their interesting of English learning can be improved.四、The key and difficult pointsThe key points:1. To master the core words and main sentences.2. Students can use them in communication correctly.The difficult points: 1. The pronounce of ” climbing”. 2. Students can use the main sentences in the communication and build confidence in English speaking.五、Teaching and study methodsIn order to make the class more interesting for the students to learn and to understand, we should think about the students different English levels. I will use the following teaching methods: Task based teaching method, Question-and-answer teaching method, TPR, the gaming teaching method and Pair work or Individual work method.六、Teaching aids: Cards, pictures, PPT and Changyan Teaching system.七、Teaching procedures: Step 1 Warm up 1. Greetings. 2. Enjoy a song. Walking, walking.Purposes: By listening to the song, I hope to provide them good English learning atmosphere and attract their attention to this lesson.Step 2 presentation 1. Look at me. What am I doing?Purpose: To review the learned words and lay a good foundation for the next part. 2. Look at the pictures, what is it doing? 3. Lets chantPurpose: With the help of the gestures and the cards, they can learn the present participle naturally. Students can know the meaning of adding the v-ing. And the chance can consolidate the learned words and sentence. 4. Listen and read 5. Roles play.Purpose: To develop their tones and intonation of reading and improve Ss listening and speaking ability.Step 3 practice 1. Guessing game. 2. Lets playPurpose: The games are to arouse students interesting of English learning and develop their ability of cooperation. The activity is to develop Ss abilities of speaking and communicating.Step 4 summary 1. Review the learned the knowledge. 2. Evaluate the performance of the students in class.Purpose: To encourage Ss to learn English and build their confidence.Step 5 Homework 1. Copy the new words. 2.
