Unit 9 My favorite subject is science.Section A(1a-1c) 一教学思路:It is the first period of unit9. It talks about preferences. It is one of the interesting topics in students lives. I think students will enjoy the topic and has a lot of things to say about it. I will use photos to show the subjects and the teachers to let them discuss their favorite subjects and teachers. They share the photo and the pictures and say something about my favorite color, fruit, vegetable and subject.To lead the words “favorite, subject”, new sentence: My favorite subject is English, and lead in the new lesson.Step3. New lessonTell them that we have many subjects at school. And then play a short video for them and let them watch it carefully and remember these subjects and the teachers. We will ask and answer questions to talk about the target words and sentences and lead them to use interesting ways to read them.They share the video with music and try to remember these subjects and teachers, and they will stand up and say these subjects and the teachers who teach them these subjects. To lead the new words about subjects and the target sentences, like “-W hat is your favorite subjects? My favorite subject is” and at the same time I will ask the other students to say something like this “His/Her favorite subject is., and his/her teacher is.” to train their personal transformation.Step4. listeningTell them that I have known what their favorite subjects from our talking just now, and I have two good friends, they are Linda and Anna. Let them guess what about theirs. And play a tape of a conversation for them. Its about subjects. And at the same time, let them complete 1b. After that, check the answers with them together.They listen to the conversation and know what Linda and Annas favorite subjects. And they complete 1b.To let them know how to talk about favorite subjects from listening. At the same time, their listening skill will be improved.Step5.Activity competitionGive them different tasks.Task one: make conversations like this: -What is your favorite subject?-My favorite subject is.-Who is your. teacher?-My teacher isTask two: give a report like this: My favorite subject is., and.is myteacher. His/Her favorite subject is., and.is his/herteacher. Group one and group two do task one, and group th ree and group four do task two. They can get a flag for their group if they do well.To encourage them to speak English more in English class. And from speaking, they will know more about subjects and teachers.Emotion education: We have many subjects in middle school, please love them and study hard, I hope everybody can make progress. Homework: Share your favorite subject to your parents and tell them something about your teachers.
