Play a video.2.Chat with the students and revise the superlatives: Which is the closest supermarket from our school? What is the longest wall in the world?Which season is the hottest in Taizhou?Which is the heaviest animal on the land? What is the best movie theater in Taizhou?Which is the most difficult subject for you? 1. Ss watch the video and revise the superlatives in the video.2. Students answer the questions quickly.Revise the superlatives:close-closer-closestlong-longer-longesthot- hotter- hottestheavy-heavier-heaviestgood-better-bestdifficult -more difficult -most difficultTo arouse students interests.Revise the superlatives with the Ss and try to get Ss to get into this class.Its good to learn new sentences.Step 2 PresentationT: In our class, I think Nancy is the best performer. She is different from others. She is very creative, I like her performing. (present the new words)Who do you think the best performer you know?Who do you think the most creative person you know?Ask Ss to say like this: “is the best/ the most creative/ actor/ I know.” BrainstormingSs share their preferences: E.g.is the most boring TV show/person I know.is the funniest person I know.To present the key words and new sentences and help Ss learn them. Step 3 Practice1. Ask Ss to write these words and phrases next to their opposites. 2. T: Tell your partner about people you know with the superlative in 1a. Like:My classmate Bill is the funniest person I know.This writer is the most creative I read.1.Ss work on 1a and fill in the chart and check the answers.Read the opposites of these superlatives .2. Ss work on 1b and talk with each. Some individual Ss share their preferences in front of the class. To arouse Ss interests and help them master superlatives better. To help Ss use the sentence structure. Step 4 Talk SowShow some pictures of Talent. Just for fun.T: Who do you think is the performer?Ss think freely and talk about the pictures. Eg.I think the boy in Picture2 is the funniest person.To help Ss to consolidate the phrases and structures. Step 5 Listening1. Work on 1c. Get Ss to listen to people talking about the school talent show.2. Work on 1d. T: What do the people say about the performs? 3. Ask questions quickly.Ss listen to the material and match the pictures with the performers. Ss listen and fill in the chart.Check the answers.Ss answer them quickly.To improve Ss listening ability and consolidate the knowledge.Step 6 Pair workGet Ss to work in pairs and make conversations like this.A: Who do you think was the best performer?B: I think Eliza was the best performer.A: Why do you think so?B: Because she is an excellent piano player. She is great.Ss work in pairs and make dialogues according to the chart in 1d like this. To help Ss to practice the sentence structure and consolidate the knowledge. Step 7 Lets talkGet Ss to talk about the school talent show. T: Who do you think was the perform. Then give a report like this:In last weeks school talent show, I think Eliza was the best performer, she is an excellent piano payer, she is great. SteveSs work in pairs and talk about the talent show.Then, make a report. To consolidate the new knowledge learned in this class. To help Ss put what they have learned to use. And improve their oral English.Step 8 BrainstormingBest In ClassAsk Ss to talk about their class. Ask “Who is the?” Like:Who is the fastest runner in our class?Who is the most serious teacher in our class?Ss ask and answer quickly to know their classmates better.To arouse Ss interests and help them master superlatives better. To help Ss use the sentence structure. Step 9 Group Work1. Ask Ss to work in groups of four to fill in the chart in 2e.2.T: Whos got talent in your class?Then ask them to make a report like this:In my class, Bill is the best chess player. He always wins the first prize in the chess game. 3. Play an English “I could be the one” and tell the Ss:Show yourself bravely! I could be ordinary. I could be the one.Ss work in groups of four and fill in the chart in 2e.Then make a report. Share their preferences.To consolidate the new knowledge
