travel My presentation consists of 5 parts analysis of teaching material and students teaching aims teaching important and difficult points teaching methods teaching procedures Part 1 Analysis of the teaching materials in this period are based on my own travel experiences We know students language output depends on their input Therefore it is a good way for teachers to practice students listening and speaking especially after they have got some language materials during the process of language learning 2 Analysis of the students 学生分析 学生分析 As to our students most of them are poor in listening and speaking and they don t have abundant vocabulary and confidence But they are interested in the topic travel So how to arouse their interest in speaking is important in using language Moreover structure of travel journal as well as the important words and expressions 2 Ss can express themselves when it comes to travel or self help tour which can develops their abilities of communication and cooperation 2 Ability objects 2 Develop students listening skills by getting key words or information And then they can put what they have heard or mastered into speaking and develop their critical thinking 3 Emotional or moral objects 1 Let students have a good knowledge of self help tour to widen their horizon 2 Develop students awareness of civilization and protecting environment and tourism understanding of the travel journal Summary Last summer we made a 12 day self help tour to the Northwest Everything arranged by ourselves we traveled through five provinces Though exhausted we had fun What amazed impressed us most was desert surfing which conquered us completely Camel riding made us feel like ancient businessmen Along the way we were spellbound by the charm of nature unique landscape surrounding us and white cloud in the blue sky touching our heads softly Our kids held singing competitions and guessing games Finally we traveled as far as a water devil city to appreciate its mysterious beauty We slept in our tents that night but lightning and thundering almost scared us to death What an unforgettable experience Structure analysis general information the most performances local food other activities 1 After listening and understanding the travel journal Ss Share show their self help tour plan or experiences with the help of some given key words or information also based on what they have learned in this period or this unit 2 Each group make a presentation in front of class 3 The rest of the students and teacher can listen and then make some comments on each article Step5 Discussion in groups Why is self help tour becoming more and more popular Ask Ss to discuss to make themselves creative Then teacher can add more to their what they have said 4 Possible reasons benefits 1 I am sure that self help tour is the best way for us to travel because it can provide us with more opportunities to enjoy the trip 2 Making traveling plans by ourselves will strengthen our abilities in planning and solving problems 3 Besides pleasure we can get our mind off work When we return we are more cheerful and ready to work harder 4 Self help tour is also a means for learning We can get a real picture of what we have heard or read with our own eyes I believe that the knowledge got from our own experiences is more impressive and practical than
