Holly works hard at school because she doesnt want to disappoint his parents.二、合作探究:Step 1 2a 情景导入1. 情景导入:教师利用多媒体放映一段篮球或足球比赛团体比赛的片段。然后教师提问:在团体比赛中获胜的关键是什么?你是否参加过团体比赛?你在比赛中犯过错误吗?你是如何看待队友的错误的?(4分钟)Whats the most important for a team?_Have you made a mistake in the match? _How did it make you feel?_Step 2 1. 要求学生快速默读短文,熟知大意,并找出各段的主题大意并标出事件的正确顺序。 然 后邀请几位同学给出自己的答案,全班一起检查讨论。(3分钟)2. 先邀请几位同学阅读短文(可一人一段),教师要注意语音,及时纠正。然后播放录音,全班同学一起跟读。(3分钟)3. 短文内容巩固练习。教师可给出一篇改写了的短文,将一些重点的表达方式空出。让学生在规定的时间内补全短文。然后邀请若干同学给出自己的答案。(4分钟)Step 3 完成教材2c-2e的任务1.让学生再细读短文,回答2c的问题。给出5分钟的时限,然后找5位同学回答问题,并集体核对答案.(5分钟)2. 让学生读2a的短文,找出能替换2d中的句子划线部分的习语或短语。4. 让学生两人一组合作参照2e所给示例练习彼特与他父亲之间的对话。三、拓展探究:rather than的用法 would rather/sooner和prefer/would prefer的区别would rather和would sooner之间一般没有区别,但经常接触到的是would rather。如:Tom would rather /sooner read than talk 汤姆宁可读书而不愿谈天。 请注意:1)would rather后跟不带to的不定式+than+不带 to的不定式,而prefer后跟动名词+to+动名词。有时prefer后面也可跟名词,而在would rather之后要求只带动词原形。如:He prefers wine to beer= He would rather drink wine than beer他喜欢喝红葡萄酒而不喜欢喝啤酒。2)某些 prefer+名词的情况不能用 would rather完全确切地表达出来:He prefers dogs to cats(他喜欢狗而不喜欢猫。)和 He would rather have dogs than cats(他宁可养狗而不愿养猫。)很明显,这两句的意思并不完全相同。3) would rather+不带to的不定式有时可代替 would prefer+带 to的不定式。 Id rather fly than go by sea=Id prefer to fly我宁愿乘飞机也不愿乘船。这两个结构后面带名词时情况也一样:Id prefer a coffee=Id rather have coffee than gin我想喝点咖啡。/我想喝点咖啡,不想喝杜松子酒。4)would rather/sooner和would prefer后面都可跟完成式,但后者带to。We went by sea but Id rather have gone by air=Id prefer to have gone by air我们是乘船去的,可我本想乘飞机去。(我愿意乘飞机去,可我的愿望未能实现。) 这和 would like+不定式的完成式有点相似,would like+带to 的不定式的完成式也表示未能实现的愿望。【课堂变式】It showed us that what these children need is a happy family _money and food.
