Unit 7 Its raining! 教学设计 Period OneSection A (1a-2d). Teaching aims1. KnowledgeWords: rain,windy,cloudy,sunny,snow, weather, cook, bad, park, message, take a message, could, back, problem,Sentence structures: Hows it going? Hows the weather? Whats the weather like? 2. Abilities: Describe the weather , greet each other with a new structure and describe what people are doing.Important points: A new way of greetings and the description words about the weather.Difficult points: Hows the weather? Its raining/windy/cloudy/sunny/snowing/ Hows it going? Great! /Not bad! /Terrible! What are you doing? Im playing basketball. .Teaching procedures Step1. Warming up1. Ask the Ss randomly: Whats the date today? What day is it today? 2. Ask the Ss :If you have lots of money, what will you do? And then get students to guess :If I have lots of money ,what will I do?( I will travel. I will visit some big cities.)Step2. PresentationShow pictures of some big cities. Get students to learn the names of the cities. Then, ask: Whats the weather like in?/ Hows the weather in?(Its sunny/cloudy/windy/rainy/snowy.)Step 3. Game:Tell the weather in the poems.清晨入古寺,初日照高林(sunny), 明月出天山,苍茫云海间 (cloudy) ,长乐钟声花外尽,龙池柳色雨中深 (raining/ rainy) ,etc窗含西岭千秋雪,门泊东吴万里船 (snowing/ snowy) 风吹柳花满店香,吴姬压酒唤客尝(windy)。Then show an easy chant to reinforce the questions and words about the weather.Step 4.Practice.1. 1a,match the words with the pictures.2. 1b,listen and write down the city names in the boxes in 1a.3. Practice the dialogues, then get students to retell the weather in these cities.4. Show a weather map. Get Ss to make a weather report as a CCTV anchor. They may begin with asking the weather in each city, then make up a report about it.Step 5.Presentation.Show pictures and ask: What is he/she doing?(He/She is) What are they doing?(They are )Step 6. Guessing game: What are they doing? Step 7. Listening.1.2a and 2b. Listen to the tape and finish the exercises in the book.2.Retell the story of Lindas family.Step 8.Presentation1. Show 3 faces on the screen and ask Ss to describe each face ,using whatever words they can. 2. Then show 3 phrases (Great! /Not bad! /Terrible!). Get Ss to match each phrase with a face.3. Practice the new structure with the whole class: Choose one student to the front and the others guess the description words through his/her facial expressions.Step9.Listening.(2d.) 1. Listen to the tape and answer the questions: Whos Rick talking to? Hows it going with Rick? Hows the weather?2. Listen again and complete the conversation.Rick: Hello, Rick .Steve: Hi, Rick. Its Steve. ?Rick: Not bad, thanks. The weathers great. What are you doing?Steve: Im with some friends at the park.Rick: Sounds like youre .Steve: Yeah. Is your brother at home?Rick: Oh, hes not here.
