Unit9 What does he look like? Section B 1a1e教学设计 一、教学目标Teaching aims (教学目标)1. 通过看图说话、师生问答、听力练习、角色扮演等形式,使学生掌握本课时的词汇。2. 学会描述他人的五官及着装、配饰等。3. 学会观察及准确描述描述他人体貌特征并能熟练谈论他人的外貌特点。 4. 理解听力材料。二、教学重点Language points (语言点)1. 词汇:1) 名词n. face, mouth, eye, nose, singer2) 形容词adj. blonde, round2. 句型:What does look like? He/she is He/she has He/she wears三、教学难点Difficulties (教学难点)1. 身体部位名词拼写与复数形式的变化。2. 准确抓住他人特点进行描述。四、教学步骤Teaching steps (教学步骤)1. Warm-up and revision(课堂复习)(1)Greet with the students and lead in the new class.(2)Make the students describe their family or their classmates by the height/build/hair.【设计意图】复习Section A学习的内容,达到热身目的,为新课时的学习做好准备。2. Showing the teaching objectives.(展示学习目标)(1).To learn new words about peoples looks: nose, blonde, mouth, round, face, eye(2).To learn to describe peoples looks from other aspects such as face (a round/long face, a big/small nose, a small/big mouth), glasses, job (3).Dont judge people by their appearance.【设计意图】使学生清楚本课时的学习任务,带着任务进行本课时的学习。3. Teaching new words.(新单词教学)(1).Show seven pictures and teach the new words: nose, blonde, mouth, round, face, eye, singer(2).Give the students one minute to remember them and then check them.(3).Summarize the words of the body parts. Then play the game Where is ? to review the parts of the body. Have Ss stand up and do this together. If he or she does wrong or slowly, he or she will sit down. At last the teacher will find which is the winner. T: Where is your head? Ss: Here it is. T: Everybody follow me, where is your hair?Ss: Here it is.T: Everybody follow me, where is your face?Ss: Here it is.T: Everybody follow me, where are your eyes?Ss: Here it is.T: Everybody follow me, where is your mouth?Ss: Here it is.T: Everybody follow me, where is your nose?Ss: Here it is.【设计意图】1.复习了身体部位的单词。2. 活跃了课堂气氛,提高学生课堂参与度,调动学生英语学习的积极性。4. Presentation (呈现新知识)(1) Show four pictures and talk about their appearances. T: Look at the woman. Can you describe how she looks like? S1: She has short hair./She has curly hair./She has blonde hair.T: Look at her eyes. Her eyes are big.S2: She has big eyes.T: What about her mouth?S3:She has a big mouth.Continue to talk about another three pictures. Pay attention to the word wear.(2). Work on 1a. Match the words with the pictures.(3).Check Ss answers.【设计意图】通过对每幅图片的描述,引导学生由使用旧知识过渡到自主使用新知识,达到了自然呈现的目的。3. Pair work (1)Have Ss get into pairs and describe the four pictures in 1a.A: What does the woman in “a” look like?B: She has curly hair.A: Does she have big eyes or small eyes?B: She has big eyes.(2)Let the students describe the people in details.【设计意图】 通过对话练习及外貌描述使学生进一步掌握五官的单词,以及五官的表述方法,并能够更直观的理解并记忆新单词。4. Work on 1b (完成1b)(1)Make sentences about famous people. Fill in the blanks.(2)Have Ss take turns to make a sentence about famous people.【设计意图】培养学生的观察力,通过简单的造句提高课堂参与率。5. Conclusion and Group work(1)Summarize how to describe peoples looks.(2)Guess the teachers. The rules: Each group describes one teacher. And the group which uses the most words is the winner. 【设计意图】 通过让学生总结如何描述人物外貌,锻炼了学生的知识总结能力。设计小组竞赛,熟练掌握如何描述人物的外貌,既有效练习了英语语言又提高了学生英语学习的兴趣。6. Listening practice (听力练习)(1)let the students guess two persons jobs and describe their looks to prepare for listening.(2)Work on 1c. Listen and write Johnny Deans and Tina Browns jobs in the chart. (3) Work on 1d. Listen again. What do Johnny and Tina look like? Complete the chart in 1c.(4) Ask Ss to get into pairs and role-play the conversation. (5)Make the students try to recite the chart.【设计意图】本部分听力练习旨在锻炼学生提取细节信息的能力。1c要求学生听出职业的单词。而1d要求学生听出关于外貌的形容词。角色扮演的设置主要是将孩子带入情境。表格叙述进一步练习描述人物外貌的英语表达。7. Writing(1) Work on 1e. Tell your partner your favorite singer or athlete, and how he/she looks like. (2) Introduce your favorite singer or athlete and try to add more. The students can also introduce your family ,your friends or your classmates.【设计意图】这个阶段的学生都有自己的偶像,谈论明星能激起学生学习英语的兴趣,当语言变成一种需要时,学生们便能自然的张开嘴了并把它转变成英语语言表达了。通过写作检测学生的实际掌握水平。8. Summary(1)Have the students summarize what they have learned in this class.(2)Read the important phrases together.【设计意图】让学生自己谈谈本节课的收获,回顾本课时的重点短语。9.ExercisesDo some exercises to check the knowledge mastery.Fill in the blanks.1. Alice has _(金黄色的) hair.2. Jackie Chan has _(黑色的) hair. 3. Lily has a _ (圆的) face.4. May has a small _ (嘴巴).5. Mr Zhang has a _ (大鼻子).6.
