Section A 3a3b【Teaching aims】一 、Teaching language goals: 1、Master the key words and phrases: shark, fin, chain, ecosystem,cruel, harmful, industry, law, cut off. 2、Learn to use the key sentences: 1) Many have heard of shark fin soup. 2) When people catch sharks, they cut off their fins and throw the shark back into the ocean. 3) This is not only cruel, but also harmful to the environment.4) If their numbers drop too low, it will bring danger to all ocean life.二、Teaching ability goals: 1、Be able to understand the passages about sharks. 2、Improve students reading and speaking skills.三、Teaching emotion and attitude goals: Enable students to understand the serious situation of sharks and improve the awareness of protecting the endangered animals.【Teaching important points】 1、Master the new words and expressions. 2、Learn how to protect the endangered animals.【Teaching difficulties】Develop students comprehensive skill.【Teaching aids】An English textbook and a projector.【Teaching steps】Step 1: Lead-inPlay the video: Earth song.Play a game: Let students guess names of some animals,then show a picture of the food chain in the oceans ecosystem,and tell the students the truth is the sharks are at the top of the food chain,but they are in danger. Write: ecosystem, the food chain, at the top of, the sharks. (设计意图:通过游戏及展示学生熟悉的动物逐步导入鲨鱼保护的话题。)Step 2: Pre-readingSay:Today we will talk about this kind of endangered animal:sharks. Maybe some students will say :The sharks?They are the strongest in the ocean, and they are at the top of the food chain in the oceans ecosystem. So why ?Why are they endangered?Now today let me tell you the reasons.1、Show students pictures and ask them: What are they? Where are they from? Write: shark fins, shark fin soup. Say: Do you know how to get the shark fins?2 、Show students a video and then ask them: How do you feel? Do you still want to try the shark fin soup? Write: cruel, harmful. So we must do something to save the sharks! Write :Save before the sharks.(设计意图:了解学情的同时,帮助学生全面的了解鲨鱼,对接下来的阅读有所帮助。)Step 3 While-readingFast ReadingAsk:Now do you want to know more about sharks? A newspaper.2、 Read the title, the first and last sentences in each paragraph and match the main ideas.Talk about shark fin soup. Para. 3Sharks are endangered now. Write: 70 million industry 90 percentAsk: Are they big numbers?Do you think sharks are really endangered? So,should we save sharks?(设计意图:通过填充表格理顺文章大意,然后通过回答问题找出本段主题句。再通过填表,找出数字,通过这些数字让学生更加直观地体会到鲨鱼锐减,濒临灭绝的现状。)3、 Read Paragraph 3 and judge the sentences.WildAid and the WWF are environmental protection groups in China.Two environmental groups appeal to develop laws to stop the sale of shark fins.Sharks fins are good for health.
