T: What do you know about him?Encourage students to talk freely about whatever they know about Yao Ming. Collect and show the information about Yao Ming on the blackboard. Step II Dialogue learningIn this procedure, ask students to learn the dialogue on page 18.ListeningGet students to listen to the dialogue and finish Activity 4 on page 19.T: You know so much about basketball match. I think the dialogue were going to listen will be very easy for you. In this dialogue, Tony is going to compete in a basketball match. His friends are talking with him. Lets see what they are talking about. First look through Activity 4 and get information by listening to the dialogue. Play the tape recorder and ask students to take note and finish Activity 4. Later get students to listen to the tape again and check their answers.
