to share some of my teaching ideas with you Now I will analyze my teaching plan to you I d like to illustrate it mainly from the following aspects teaching material teaching objects teaching theories and principles teaching goals teaching procedures and methods Part One The analysis of teaching materials and objects Teaching materials 1 The main topics of Unit 5 Make accept and decline invitations talk about obligations 2 The contents of this period Make accept and decline invitations Teaching objects 1 The students are curious active and fond of games competitions and various kinds of activities 2 The students enjoy learning English through cooperation and acting in a relaxing atmosphere Part Two The analysis of teaching theories and principles 1 The teaching must be student 务型教学法 Part Three Teaching goals 1 Knowledge goals Master the key words phrases and sentences The usage of have to can can t and be doing sth 2 Ability goals To develop the students abilities of listening speaking reading and writing To enable the students to make accept and decline invitations politely 3 Morality goals Cultivate the students qualities of co operation and communication Develop the students consciousness of politeness and culture difference Part Four Teaching procedures and methods Step 1 Warm up and lead in Firstly I will divide the whole class into two big groups Group A and Group B for they will 第 2 页 共 4 页 have a competition Then help the two big groups to form several small groups of four students Each group that has an excellent performance in class will be given a STAR to the big groups it belongs to Secondly I will help my students to arrange their weekend activities by asking them the question What are you doing this weekend I have many weekend activities for you Then I will show the pictures on the screen helping my students to answer my question like I m going skateboarding I m going shopping Thirdly I will explain the usage of be doing sth I hope to help the Ss revise the precious contents they have learned to warm up and lead in Step 2 Presentation 1a Firstly I will ask the students to sing an English song named Happy Birthday to arouse their learning interest Secondly I will invite my students to come to my party and then present the new phrases by slides and pictures to guide my students to answer my questions politely If they can come they should answer Sure I d love to I d like to And if they can t they can answer I m sorry I can t I have too much homework to do I have to go to the doctor have a piano lesson help my parents study for a test visit my aunt Next I will play a guessing game with my students to practice the new phrases First I will show a picture quickly on the screen and ask my students to answer my question Can you come to my party They will answer it like Sorry I can t I have to study for a test Then in the same way I show another picture and help them to answer it like Sorry I can t I have to go to the doctor Then the next picture and help them to answer it like Sorry I can t I have to go to the doctor Finally I help the students consolidate all the key phrases happily in this way Then ask the students to open their text book and turn to Page 25 to finish matching exercise and ask the several students to give the right answers Step 3 Listening 1b Ask the students to listen to the listening materials of 1b and ask the several students to tell the right answers I expect to further consolidate the new phrases and practice the students listening ability effectively Step 4 Group work 1c Firstly ask three students to read the sample conversation to show how to make an invitation Secondly ask Group A and Group B to read the sample conversation in roles Thirdly ask the students to read in pairs and act it out in class Finally I will say to my students Now suppose you will have a party on this Saturday Choose one student in each group invite your three group members to go to finally improve their speaking ability Step 5 Make a survey Ask the students to invite their classmates to the parties and find out who can come and who can t come and sum up all the reasons in a chart Then I will help several groups of students to report their results in class like the sample Jim can come to my party But Lily can t come to my party because she has to study for a test I want to cultivate the students qualities of co operation and communication Step 6 Listening 2a 2b Firstly I will ask my students to turn to Page 26 and look at the sentences in the box of Part 2a and then I will introduce to the Ss that they will hear five conversations In each conversation the person will say he she can or they can t come to the party Please circle the right answers Then ask the several students to tell the right answers Secondly I will explain the usage of can can t Thirdly I ask the Ss to listen again and number the reasons 1 3 why people can t go to the party Then check the answers I will explain the usage of have to I hope to help the students to learn the usage of can can t and have to in a situation and then improve their listening ability effectively Step 7 Pair work 2c First I will let the Ss work in pairs to invite their partners to do something and the partners say they decline the invitations with other reasons more than the reasons in 2b Then I will ask several pairs to act it out in class Desire to help the students combine the new contents with the old ones and then improve their qualities of co operation communication Step 8 Homework Ask the Ss the design an invitation card and invite their classmates to go to their birthday parties Tell the students to reply to the invitations politely using what they have learned in class It s a Birthday
