2 My college life What can you do to make your college life colorful describe the ideal life in college When I was in high school I had dreamt of having a wonderful life in college I said to myself that I would do lots of interesting things to make the next few years filled with happiness I even make a detailed plan but when I entered college I found it quite different from what I thought before I felt a little depressed As I don t know what to do after class in fact we have far less lessons than we had in high school So what should I do in the long spare time I didn t know so I spent much of my time reading you know some novels but day after day I began to feel boring only to read Will the next four years be the same I wondered if so I will be crazy Four years have too much spare time four years reading novels four years feel depressed I couldn t think more about it So after a period of several weeks I started to make a plan for my college life in order to make it colorful and valuable First of all I should get up early in the morning rather than sleep late even on the weekends then I can do some exercises as body building Second I should go to the library of course not just for novels other kinds of books like maths English are included if I still have some spare tie I will find a part time job in this way I could gain some money and what is the most important experience I can know more about the real world 1 How I Learn English It is known to all that language learning is not only a kind of knowledge but a kind of practice Practice makes perfect In learning a foreign language My sister has set a good example From the very beginning I spared no pains and paid as much attention as possible to listening speaking reading and writing I read the English stories with great interest and learn to keep English diary every day Now I am able to appreciate English poetry To meet the demands of present situation I must learn English well 3 AN UNFORGETABLE EXPERIENCE As a university student I would like to be a volunteer at or outside school In the vacation I went to a primary school in our small village to teach students there which left me a deep impression Before teaching I made many preparations for this I collected much information about students who were still children under 9 such as their hobbies their characteristics and so on Of course I made a plan on how I could teach and play with them As a result I learned much from the Internet and when I thought that I would meet them who were innocent I was in a positive mood The first day when I got in the classroom of grade 2 I didn t be welcomed by them making me at a loss Then I was told that they were not used to listening to me because of my accent What confused me most was that my Putonghua was bad and could not be understood well So I had to say in a local language and only teach them math and physics At class I would ask them to answer questions but it didn t go well I didn t know what to do until other teachers gave me a hand In accordance with them I had to be angry and strict with these children and score of them But I didn t intend to do like these so they had to allow me to play with them and tell stories Of course I counted numbers with them with joy even though I thought it is a fool In fact their intelligence is not bad What interested me most is their innocence and afterwards I am popular with them and surrounded by them to tell stories and play games I am not good at teaching in class formally but I should think why I can t Maybe it is because of my characteristic or my accent At the same time I got a lot of fun from it So I should learn from my disadvantages and remembers this unforgettable experience forever 4 My Teacher of English I began to like English because of my english teacher in senior school who has stimulated my great interest in learning English She was patient but strict She did not mind the students slowness in learning but to make what we had learned strong she often asked us to recall the knowledge in class This was also a method to examine the homework she had assigned She is such an excellent teacher that we got so much from her I ll appreciate her forever 5 How to keep healthy What is the most important thing in the world I think it is health You can take away our money house car or even our clothes and we can survive But if our health was taken away we would surely die That is why we always try to eat in a healthy way and exercise regularly In order to eat healthily I usually avoid eating food high in fat like French fries or cookies I also eat little meat I eat a lot of vegetables and fresh fruit which are full of vitamins Taking exercise every day helps us build a strong body Regular exercise is an important part of keeping me healthy What s more I think friends are an important part of one s health Many studies show that people with a wide range of social contacts get sick less than those who don t I always feel better when I am with friends than when I am alone When I am with my friends I always laugh Laughing is also an important part of health I like to laugh with my friends By eating properly and exercis
