Teaching Plans for Reading 【Teaching Aims】 Improve students reading skills teaching how to find key sentences and key words. Make students cherish good friends.【Key Points& Difficulties】 Improve students reading skills by teaching how to find key sentences and key words.【Teaching Process】 Step1. Lead-in Introduce to the students that there is a magic thing in the castle,and encourage the students to find the key code to it. Step2. Skimming Have students skim the text on page 21 and try to get the main idea of each passage by looking for key sentences. Lead the students to get some tips about key sentences. eg.A _ sentence will help us get the main idea of each passage. A key sentence always appears(出现) at the _ or second sentence of each passage. Step3. Scanning Have students scan the text by finding key words. Firstly, the teacher will show students how to find key words by finishing Exercise 1, and later have them finish exercise 2 and exercise 3. Try to analyze the following two questions with students: (1)what can a good friend be like? (2)what should a good friend do? By analyzing the questions above, the teacher leads students to find out the key code to a magic thing mentioned before. Step4. Poems By reading the poem on A Good Friend, the teacher is going to make an example of what a poem is like, and later ask the students to write d
