Students can read and spell the new words : achievement, southeastern, thick, include, freezing, condition, succeed, challenge, achieve, force, nature2.Students can read and remember phrases:take in, in the face of , even though, mountain climbing, run along the southwestern part of China, even more serious difficulties, freezing weather conditions, heavy storms, get near the top, reach the top, the first woman to succeed, risk their lives, challenge themselves, give up trying to achieve their dreams, the spirit of the climbers 3. Students can master the key sentences:1). The Himalayas run along the southwestern part of China. 2).Its also very hard to take in air as you get near the top. 3). People want to challenge themselves in the face of difficulties. 4) The spirit of these climbers shows us that we should never give up trying to achieve our dreams.Ability objectsTrain students reading skills:1).make students know how to guess a words meaning by reading; 2).make students know how to sum up the main ideas of the article by fast reading; 3).make students know how to write a fluent essay and find the key words and phrases by carefully reading.Moral objectsTo enable students to learn to face the challenges in their daily life bravely and never give up trying to achieve their dreamsTeaching key points:key words and useful expressions.Teaching difficulties:Students can use the superlatives to describe something. Teaching aids:Teaching methods, task-based teaching methodsgroup activities methods , reading guidance methods二、【Teaching process】I.Lead in:Make students enjoy some pictures of journey around the world.II.Before reading师生互动 Where did we go just now ?-We went to the biggest/highest/deepest.复习形容词最高级,并引出the highest mountain Qomolangma,老师提问:Is it the most dangerous mountain in the world.?让学生们带着好奇心进入本课学习。III While readingTask1:Read the article and match each paragraph with the main ideas. Notice: Reading skill-skimming Look through to find the Skimmain idea of each paragraph. 构建知识框架Qomolangma:facts dengers achievements spiritTask2:Read Para.1 and answer the questions. 1. Where are the Himalayas? 2. How high is Qomolangma?引导学生补充facts的内容 3. What makes it the highest? 观看小视频理解The forces of nature 4.讲解run alongTask3:Read Para.1. List the dangers for climbers. 分组讨论然后找学生总结,背诵 Dengers的内容. Task4:Read Para.2 and answer the questions. 1. How many achievements are mentioned(提及)? What are they? 找学生总结并指导他们背诵理解achievements的内容。 2.注意the first people to.do用法Task5:Read Para.3 and answer the questions. 1. Why do so many climbers risk their lives even though its dangerous? 2. What does the spirit of climbers show us?分组讨论,鼓励学生根据提示词 背诵完成spirit部分内容。 3.in the face of .give up 的用法。IV.After reading 1.For healthy people,its very dangerous and difficult to climb Qomolangma.2.
